A lot of just brain dead idiocy on this thread.

Floyd is unmarketable. He's a serial woman abuser and just not a very likable or charismatic person.

Jordan made more money in endorsements than any other athlete. Shaq made money. LBJ makes money.

Its not about race, its about being marketable.

Whites in America are reaching so bad for a champion in boxing, they don't care if the fighter is American or European, as long as they're not black and a black fighter isn't seen as the best

They did it with Manny in this era, how the hell was he voted fighter of the decade and he lost in the decade and had a draw, and never beat Marquez clearly one time in 4 tries....Floyd was a p4p fighter before anyone ever heard of Manny and has beaten more champions and has waaaay more title fight wins...too bad the ring is where the truth comes out and no amount of hype will change who is better.....Manny never was the fighter of the decade, let alone the best of his era, no matter how bad they wanted Mayweather to lose or go away

They did it with Oscar in the 90s, even though Roy was on another level

They did it with Chavez, even though we all know whitaker beat him and is more accomplished fighter with faaaaaaar less fights

Blacks have been kicking azz so long they don't care as long its not a black man on top of the sport and all in the media

Heavyweight division has been ruled by a white guy since Vitali Klitschko. I guess America must be racist against whites because they aren't showing love to the Klitschko brothers who seem like good guys without criminal histories?

How do ****** posters like you not get banned? This forum is full of so many closet racists such as yourself that always think everything in life that doesn't go there way must be because it's racist and a part of the system.

That's some real talk from Roy. Haven't heard him be this deep in a while, it's a shame he doesn't bring it up on air during HBO fights. He has the platform to make a difference.

Broner is posting videos of himself eating out strippers and wiping his ass with money. Let's be honest here.

And if you want to suggest that a fighter's skin colour affects his general popularity, then you're probably on to something. But the idea that companies consciously discriminate in that way doesn't add up. If it spikes their sales they couldn't care less.
I agree. It happens not only to boxers but all athletes regardless of race. Kovalev for instance I don't see him ever getting any big sponsors because he's too blunt and rough around the edges as far as his image goes. I think had Ward not gone inactive for so long and not let his ego get the better of him so to speak he would have become a very marketable figure for companies. Crawford I think for instance has a good chance of becoming really popular should he continue to win. Seems like a easygoing guy that can communicate his ideas well and has some dog in him when it comes to fighting should someone bring it out of him. I think nationality probably plays more into someone's sales overall until they really reach a certain level of popularity. I mean imagine if some of these really good fighter's from these small/random countries were Canadian/Mexican/British/American/Puerto Rican They would be vastly more successful in regards to generating money.
