Calling me a casual fan is quite funny actually. Ive been involved in boxing for over 35 yrs both in & out of the ring . Done most things in the sport except managing or promoting a fighter. Even reported for a couple of boxing mags too along the way. A HOF fighter is not a person that blatantly cheats to obtain greatness, nor is it a boxer that does nothing for 4 years but is called HOF worthy HOW? Nor is a boxer that claims to be a 160 pound world champion yet refuses to defend that title against his mandatory challenger.
I have not called Kovalev, Golovkin or Margarito HOF fighters either although Kovalev & GGG are well on their way to reaching that level
Tony Margarito is the epitomy of what boxing is all about He came up the hard way had to fight for everything he had. It was so sad to he him get railroaded the way he did in fact it was diabolical in my book

Cotto knows in his heart that Antonio The Tijuana Tornado Margarito legitimately beat his ass & made him Quit on his knees in submission.
Cotto also knows the rematch was headed exactly the same way as Fight 1. Cotto was wilting getting ready to quit again while Margarito was beating his chest taunting Cotto.
Only then did the NY doc stop the fight, not to save Margarito's eye he couldnt see out of it from round 2 on, but to save Cotto the embarrassment of quitting on his knees AGAIN!!!!!

I understand being a fan of Tony, whether you're a casual like CJrock or you carry nationalistic pride like a lot of these other guys, Margs was exciting to watch. But, facts or undeniable, Tony got a 1 year suspension for his wraps and his trainer banned for life. Tony lost 3 out of 4 fights after "wrap gate." Tony has not fought in 4 years. These are all facts, what the hell points to Tony ever being a competitive fighter again?

Margo is just a bad match for Cotto and always will be, he's got Cotto's number. The rematch was going pretty much like the first match, eventhough Margo was drained and was forced to use softer gloves

pretty sure Margo would have stopped Cotto again if it wasn't for the broken eye (and the pro-Cotto doctor jumping in at the right time)

Pacquiao basically won the rematch for Cotto with his throughout demolition of Margo. He turned Margo into a handicaped fighter (Cotto's specialty)

Cotto should have given Pac half of his purse for the Margo rematch, if he was honest
