It's as simple as that: seven-and-a-half years after their first fight and four years after their rematch, one guy is about to make in excess of $25 million for a fight that has commanded the attention of the entire boxing world and is on his way to the hall of fame, while the other has become a life-time resident in the bosing hall of shame and is in desperate need of money to sustain his lifestyle. Maybe it's time for Margarito to take some career advice from Yusef Mack.
It would make a great movie (the Cotto-Margarito story...not the Yusef Mack career advice bit).Comment

Margaritas needs to get realistic and ****in fight somebody if he even wants to be considered for a Cotton fight. Let's not forget he's looked like **** since Mosley beat down. **** just fight Mosley again. There are so many potential fights at 154 that would be good for both Margs stock and said opponent. Like k9 Bundrage, Lara, Rosado (would be great for both guys), Clottey, that prospect who just got KO'D in the 8th on PBC, so many. Get back to work you bum.Comment

Must burn a hole in your gut to have to cheer for a disgraced, one-eyed cheater. Hell, I'd hate to be in that position. Must suck to be you.Comment

I am a fan of both but why does Margarito deserve a rematch?
There's a reason Arum didn't have Margarito fight a tuneup between Pacquiao and Cotto rematch when he obviously badly needed one to see if he was able to still compete, and there's a reason Margarito went along with it: neither of them wanted to risk the payday from a Cotto rematch. And because of that, I don't want to hear any ****ing excuses.
Regardless if you love a fighter or hate him, that standard should apply, across the board.
Sergio Martinez was my favorite boxer. But Cotto gets full credit for beating his ass, 100%. No one made Martinez fight Cotto without getting a tuneup after major surgery to see where he was.
Same goes to Pacquiao-Cotto. Cotto agreed to the catchweight, accepted the fight and the fans money.
Ward-Dawson. No one made Chad Dawson say he would fight Ward at 168 on live TV and then sign to fight at that weight.
And ESPECIALLY Pacquiao-Mayweather. Manny knew this fight meant EVERYTHING to his fans, and still (supposedly) went into the fight with a major injury, took $100 out of the pockets of over 4 million people, and then he wants to say he deserves a rematch?
