I agree with getting inside. In the earlier rounds he stayed in Stevenson's range and paid the price. I thought he looked decent against Cleverly. Just because Kovalev blasted him out early doesn't mean he's garbage.

I guess it depends on whether previous exposure to Stevenson's speed will allow Fonfara to start quicker. It can be hard to deal with that initial rush Stevenson has if you've never seen that speed. He did very well later in the fight, and Stevenson had to dig real deep in the last couple rounds to clinch the fight. Also, Stevenson's not exactly young. He might show up and look his age, or at least more his age.

The first fight was interesting enough that I wouldn't count Fonfara out.

Someone Adonis won't fight because of their shared company. It would open up the division quite a bit.
Stevenson pretty much whooped Fonfara's ass inside after he got knocked down. Stevenson made that adjustment and clinched the fight.

Also, Fonfara doesn't have the defense to avoid Stevenson's left. He's not a craftsman. He's a big tough "take your best and give mine back" kind of fighter. Now, as we saw in the first fight he is tough enough to get to Stevenson late, but he'd still have to take the beating early. The key is having more success this time while he's taking that beating. Someone mentioned the jab, that's actually a good idea.

He looked shocked by that power in that left hand too. Like you said, he's a guy that absorbs what you have, smiles and then returns with something harder. I think being in the ring with Stevenson and knowing what to expect will play into his favor.

Does anyone think Fonfara can win a rematch? What can he do different to turn the tide in his favor?
He needed to let his hands go in the 1st fight. Maybe his conditioning wasn't up to par at that point... hopefully that changed because after the fight I'm guessing he realized that he can beat stevenson.

He cannot do nothing different. He's not slick enough or quick enough on his feet to beat Stevenson. As long as Stevenson sticks and moves like he did last time then he wins a other easy UD. Because that'd what the last fight was...an easy 9-3 win. People got a hard on because of the flash knockdown. Stevenson wasn't even hurt.

Fonfara did about as well as he is ever going to do against Stevenson. He simply does'nt have the craft or footwork needed to take away Stevenson's left hand. He just does'nt have that club in his bag.

Maul Adonis. Make it rough & ugly.
                  His only chance.

I agree - Fonfara simply isn't a good enough boxer to neutralise Stevenson. However, Adonis is now getting to the kind of age where he may start to slide, despite his relative low mileage in boxing terms, whereas the Polish Prince is arguably still reaching his physical peak - although given the amount of punishment he takes it may not last for long...
