You got a short memory. HBO made a big effort some years back to focus on American fighters and it resulted in shit programming.

Showtime under Ken Hershman was the best boxing programming in the land because he put the best and most exciting matchups on, regardless of their fanbases or where they were from. Supersix, Batam tourney, etc. When he came to HBO he brought that mindset and the way the cards have fallen Golovkin and Kovalev have become the new faces because the American fans love them.

We have high standards here; we don't support people just because theyre from here, unlike other places.

What I'm saying is HBO and Showtime doing business together will mean much more money and more exciting fights than HBO trying to scramble and find in house fights. It just so happens that all if not all of Showtime/Haymon fighters are American.

But anybody that believes this Cold War way of business benefits boxing and the fighters are wrong.
