Ward, you signed a contract. That means you have to face Kovalev at the back end of 2016 or try to get out of this contract too.

GGG agreed to fight Ward and Ward said no. Now GGG has other plans and Ward needs to respect that.
And honestly Ward should forget about Kovalev. He doesn't want the fight and instead of getting the fans hopes up should just stay at 168 and fight top ten fighters.
This guy is turning to the next Winky Wright and his fans are just playing along.Comment

I want to support this guy but he doesn't seem eager at all to show that he's still one of the better fighters in the sport. It's ALWAYS something with him.Comment

Geeeeez..... how many excuses are going to be made for Andre Ward, and how long is his "Get out of Jail" pass card going to last??!!?? Here's a guy who fights every couple of years.... tried to get some Joe Blow opponent for the Cotto-Canelo card and got laughed out of the room by the boxing commission..... and now says there's no rush to fight Kovalev??!!??
What did Ward do to earn such undying love/loyalty from a few diehard fans?
Serious question..... although I think I know the answer.
In this day and age of total boxing globalization (the rising boxing powers like Ukraine, and established ones like P.R. and Mexico)..... the U.S. is desperate to find a new American to put as the face of boxing. Floyd wasn't too likeable and he's gone anyway..... Pavlik never panned out..... Wilder is busy fighting drunks from the neighborhood canteen..... so that leaves Andre Ward, self-proclaimed S.O.G.
Shouldn't he have to actually fight to earn his following???
I forgot to add the "GGG factor".
LMFAO!!
Talk about reaching for straws!
All of the above is not enough, so desperate Ward fans bring up GGG saying GGG is ducking Ward. Since when can a 160-pound fighter be accused of ducking a 168-pound one? Is that the best Ward fans can come up with? Wake up and smell the coffee!! Ward has not been relevant in the boxing scene for years now.... and STILL his fans are carrying torches for him.
How do you go about getting these lifetime passes??Comment
