  • Do you think Pac regrets fighting Mayweather? Or...

Do you think Pacquiao regrets fighting Mayweather, or do you think it was just a late-career cash grab? I mean, his legacy is still solid, BUT his legacy now includes a loss to the one guy he truly wanted to beat.
I'm just curious what you guys think he genuinely feels on this one (wish an interviewer would ask him this)

I don't think he regrets it in the slightest.

He was used by Arum and HBO as some savior and they kept him away from Floyd as long as they could and had the help of the media to blame Floyd for the fight not happening.

Then they cashed out on him and are looking to feed him to Crawford. I can't believe how Manny hasn't seen this yet.

With that money nah I doubt it, maybe he regrets not doing things by the book and making it clear he had an injury but everything else I doubt it.

Considering how much he got out of it, absolutely not. I do think he's embarrassed about all the "God will deliver him unto my hands" and those commercials, not being able to get the victory after all that definitely ached his heart but I don't think he regrets fighting him.

I believe he regrets it but he doesn't lament it, the money made it a good business move. It wasn't a good boxing move though.

Perhaps. But it's not like Mayweather completely demolished Pacquiao. Mayweather got an ugly win. Both fighters embarrassed themselves (lowest career punch output for either fighter). I'm sure that Floyd dreamed of a more epic win. The money was banked the minute round 1 started, they could've fought a legacy-capping fight, or give us a nervous chess match.

Point being, if this was Arum's masterplan, he way overestimated Floyd's dominance. Losing like that to Floyd back in '09 wouldn't have hurt pac's career in the slightest. He wasn't claiming TBE status, nor is it why people came to see him fight. He built his fan base on being an exciting fighter. He would have moved on and had many more exciting, lucrative fights.
Mayweather's M.O. was making exciting fighters boring (plus, he produced and starred in his own reality show)

If there's one common thread running through history, it's rich, old men telling younger generations to seek value in things other than money.
I'm sure pac also values his legacy, which will far outlive his bank account balance. The dude is a demigod in his country (seriously).
I know he's stoked about the money. What I'm asking is if you think he values money more than his legacy.
