  • Floyd Dropping More Bombs: Destroys Oscar De La Fishnets (Rousey on Ring Cover)

"Well, you know, congratulations, but you know the sport is starting to look bad when a female fighter from a whole other sport is on the cover of a boxing book," stated retired undefeated former pound-for-pound king Floyd Mayweather, who shared his thoughts on UFC women's bantamweight champion Ronda Rousey being featured on the cover of the latest edition of Ring Magazine. The move drew harsh criticism from diehard boxing fans and some members of the media, especially considering that Rousey's next opponent is decorated former three-division boxing world champion Holly Holm. In fact, you'd have to go as far back as 1978 to find the first and only time a female boxer, Cathy "Cat" Davis, was featured on the cover of the magazine. According to Mayweather, the fact that Rousey is on the cover is simply proof that things aren't going quite as well as they may seem for Golden Boy Promotions founder Oscar De La Hoya, who acquired the magazine nearly 8 years ago.

"You gotta realize this, we all know Oscar De La Hoya owns the Ring Magazine. That shows you; he has no fighters but Canelo. Basically, it's like he's trying to steal her from Dana White. Richard Shaefer, he built Golden Boy from the ground up, helped them make tons and tons of money, and what did this guy do? This is real talk, how can Canelo or any fighter hold their head up high and say, 'You know what? I'm proud for Oscar, a guy that dressed in drag and been on coke.' I mean, the world knows this. How can you hold your head up high and say, 'You know what? I'm proud for this person to be my promoter'," Mayweather explained during a recent conversation with FightHype.com. "A guy that's going to promote me as a fighter, I want them to care about my well-being when it's all said and done. The promoter should be able to make money, but when it's all said and done, the talent should win, and not just having their hand raised after the fight. Financially, the fighter should win."

I agree that Rousey or anyone else from MMA should not be on the cover of a Boxing magazine but at the Same time has Floyd ever heard the saying "When you live in a glass house, you shouldn't throw stones"

Guy has quite the checkered past himself. Last I checked Oscar never did time for beating a woman...

Oscar De La Hoya really is a POS.

De La Hoya was accused in a lawsuit of **** in 1998. The lawsuit, filed in San Bernardino (Calif.) County Superior Court, alleged that De La Hoya ****d a woman, who was 15 at the time, in a hotel room in Cabo San Lucas, Mexico, in June 1996.[35] The case was settled out of court in 2001.[36]

In late 2007, photographs featuring De La Hoya cross-dressed in company of a woman not his wife were posted on a tabloid website and received extensive publicity across the internet. De la Hoya has denied the authenticity of the photos. His lawyer stated, "The photographs depicting Mr. De La Hoya's image that were posted online today by an obscure paparazzi Web site are fake. Many of the Web site's viewers (as reflected in postings on the site) identified the photos as 'a really bad photoshop job.' Unfortunately, with today's technology, anyone can make any photo seem like something other than it is."[46] In September 2007, Mila Dravnel, the woman who sold the photographs, recanted her allegations against De La Hoya and denied the authenticity of the photographs.[47] However, in May 2008, Dravnel sued De La Hoya for slander, but she dropped the lawsuit after experts determined the photographs had been digitally doctored.[48] However, in De La Hoya's August 2011 interview with Univision, he confirmed that it was indeed him in the leaked 2007 photos.[49]

In May 2011, De La Hoya acknowledged he has a problem, but the nature of the issue was not revealed. "After doing an honest evaluation of myself, I recognize that there are certain issues that I need to work on. Like everyone, I have my flaws, and I do not want to be one of those people that is afraid to admit and address those flaws." He underwent treatment at the Betty Ford Center in Rancho Mirage, California for his alcoholism.[58]

In September 2013, just a few days before the Golden Boy promoted match of Floyd Mayweather vs. Saúl Álvarez, De La Hoya announced that he was returning to a drug and alcohol treatment facility to address his disease.[59]

Now he is driving the most prestigious boxing magazine into the ground with biased rankings and featuring MMA fighters on the cover. What a POS this guy is!
