With all due respect...if you're a promoter...you don't make statements like "HBO wants to throw up when Rigondeaux's name is brought up" amongst other things he's said in the public as Rigo's promotor...you just don't say **** like that...did Arum not know he signed an Olympic Gold Medalist with not just an amateur style..but a Cuban sytle???...Just sayin'...

With Mikey Garcia...Arum wants to strongarm him into an extension like he was doing with Chavez, Jr and been doing for decades with fighters...ain't nobody tryna hear that ****...he's a greedy bastid...a great promotor but an evil greedy bastid...

5 fights or not, he's a world champion and considered one of the most talented fighters in the sport, therefore, more is expected from him.

funny thing, hbo claimed loma was fighting koasicha because every other fighter in the division was afraid of him. meanwhile the purse they put up for koasicha was only like 35k.

In regards to Garcia, I can't blame TR too much for that. They're currently one of the few promoters out there who put money into building up their fighters from the start of their career. They invest in a fighter early with the expectation of recouping their investment later in the fighter's career. Yeah TR's brass lives a good life, but they also have a lot of overhead because they employee quite of few people who work to help build their fighter's image.

Also keep in mind Haymon's currently signing guys into 9 year contracts, which as promoters TR can't legally do -(that'll probably end up being the heart of their case against Haymon).

I think he either needs to be fighting more right now or he should be matched tougher, one or the other. He's a 2 fight a year guy so far. Thats sorta sad for a guy who's doing what he's doing with a powerful promoter so early in his career. Loma should be on ever major undercard he can get on &/or headlining 1 or 2 cards a year.

Although I can understand where Arum is coming from. We got fickle fans so if he matches Loma too tough & now he's a guy with a 4-2 record some people will just see the 4-2. Plus its a hard sell on a fight poster to have 4-2 listed under a guys name.

No one's really done what Loma is doing in front of as many people so exercising caution is sorta understandable. And I mean thats the road Arum's always taken with his guys. He carefully matches them up til their 20 or so fights deep & than starts taking measured risks. Basically Loma's first 2 fights accounted for those first 20 or so fights he did with most of his earlier fighters.

The crazy thing is even though I & others are kinda going wtf about his opposition its an AMAZING resume for a guy with 6 fights. I mean Loma gots to have the best 6 fight resume in boxing history.

            I agree with that.

I was just implying that they know good and well that they don't want another Salido incident to hurt their product so this whole "he is avoided" rubbish is just another way of saying, "he is being groomed".

Do you think Mikey would like one of those haymon 9 year contracts as supposed to an extension with Top Rank?...Top Rank is the best at building fighters but up to a point when Bob says enough is enough...now I'm investing in this new guy and he'll be my main focus/cash cow...leaving other guys in the wings (rigondeaux)...If Mikey served his time under his contract...why does he need an extension if he wants to go somewhere else for promotional growth...the biggest payperview stars left Arum with the exception of Manny because he appears to be too kind which serves as his weakness...and why he's begging for a rematch with another figher who left Top Rank...

Some guys see those 9 year Haymon contracts as slave deals, others see job security. It's like any relationship, your happy until you realize you have better options.

Right now it's the best deal out there for fighters because of the hedge fund bonanza. But rumors are that the PBC will be pulling back some of their reckless spending next year. We'll see how alot of the fighters are then.

My understanding is TR will let you serve out your contract, but they substantially pull back how much they'll be paying you - like the Chavez deal with Golovkin. That's where instead of serving out for lesser money, they choose to sit out instead for zero money.

Exactly...it's like a bribe of sorts...TR won't keep that level of promotion and pay up unless an extension is signed...very understandable from a business standpoint...but not an ethical standpoint...if no extension then release the fighter...remember Bob was holding Chavez, JR hostage because he didn't want to sign an extension...so Bob sat him on the shelf?...Chavez just wanted to fight his last fight on the contract but no Arum doesn't let you out of the contract and when Chavez left after his contract "expired"...Arum took him to court...you see what I'm sayin?...

Not even sure I agree it's ethically wrong. TR would still pay him good money. Fighters are damn lucky they work for guaranteed wages and not a percentage of the fight revenue.

Chavez wanted top dollar for that last fight. TR may have lost money on Chavez in the Vera rematch, Stub Hub was only partially filled. Not sure if HBO & Mexican tv were paying top dollar for him anymore. I know Haymon didn't turn a profit on the Fonfara fight considering he paid over $5mill to Jr. Carl Morreti said they projected to lose money on the Chavez deal had he signed to fight Golovkin. Jr should've just accepted a low paying gig with TR for that last fight and been done.

Lol, TR didn't hesitate to release Rigo when he asked for it.

Totally agree...and lol...you know exactly how Arum really feels about Rigo so for him to let him go with no qualms is really saying something...he can't have him donairin' the rest of his stable with "that style"...
