Former four division world champion Erik 'Terrible' Morales feels WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto made a big mistake in selecting Saul "Canelo" Alvarez as his next opponent.

The fight, taking place at a catch-weight of 155-pounds, is scheduled for November 21st at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

Morales has a lot of respect for Cotto and says a victory over Canelo will not make him any greater.

If Cotto beats Canelo it is one of the biggest victories of his career and it definitely does enhance him. For that, and along with a surely giant purse, it's a worthy risk in my opinion because I don't think that losing hurts him much at all actually.

I'm glad he's doing it. It is the biggest fight for both of them at this point. It should be a barnburner and the sport needs as many of those as it can get. Alvarez needs to break him down and jump on him early. If he gets too technical, Cotto will take it and Canelo's bright future will surely be in jeopardy.

When has Canelo put consistent pressure on anybody? I don't see what everybody sees in this kid. I think Cotto has this fight hands down. I think Canelo gets schooled again. Cotto is the real deal and the second best fighter Canelo would have faced. Yes, I still think Cotto is better than Lara and Trout.
