Obviously lomachenko is very talented, and looks to be a great fighter..

But before I pronounce him great and compare him to a guy like pernell, lomachenko needs to win some more big fights... One win over Russell jr just isn't enough for me... Not saying lomachenko won't be great, just alittle early for the pernell and ATG talk

I think he has a much more pleasing style to watch than Whitaker. He is much more aggressive than Whitaker and he is always coming forward. He goes for the KO and often gets it. He is a much better puncher than Whitaker. Whitaker was a very defensive boxer and somehow managed to be involved in lots of clinches and wrestling. Loma throws more multi punch combinations than Whitaker and he is more enjoyable to watch. Whitaker's claim to fame was not getting hit but his fights were not exciting. Loma comes to fight and he is always on the attack and throwing lots of punches unlike Whitaker who was a defensive specialist who landed just enough jabs to win rounds. That's how I see it anyway. I prefer Loma to Whitaker.

I can understand that. He was extremely skillful and an all time great. I just never enjoyed his way of fighting but I can understand how some would admire his defensive skills and overall talent. To each his own.
