Alvarez is a counter puncher with slow feet who has problems cutting off the ring against distance out boxers with faster feet and even faster hands. He is very similar to JMM in that regard. If you take the fight to him, then he will look spectacular but if you give him some subtle movements and spacing he will almost always struggle.
    Bradley isn't a distance outboxer.

True, but he was one against Juan Manuel Marquez. He is a versatile fighter who can throw fast combination punches from the outside or just slug it out on the inside.

However, I say that he boxed more and threw more combinations punches and jabs from the outside against Rios rather than slugging it out with him on the inside.

You could even see him responding to Teddy's instruction, something he was terrible about in the past because the advice from his corner was often questionable. I know a lot of people don't like Atlas and want to think this was Tim all along but this was a renewed fighter. Still has some old habits to correct but I think he'll get there.
He's definitely seems to be more strategic in the ring. But I'm not sold on his 'improvement' just yet. Rios isn't the right opponent to gauge that with.

          • Bradley looked good. He was making much better use of his good footwork than he typically does. Now, Rios looked like absolute garbage but it was still nice to see Bradley use moves he has always been capable of using but did not consistently make use of.

And a stoppage on top if it? **** yeah, war Desert Storm!

Thats what I said. Tim looked great, but so did Abril when he fought Rios.

              • Good win for Bradley, I'm pleased for him.

Getting a KO was extra sweet.

I'm starting to think Rios is kind of like Chavez jnr, unable to motivate himself, lacks a bit of self belief and not really intelligent enough to realise his opportunities.

Shame, he is a nice kid, and made a decent amount of $ to retire on.

                  • the writing was kind of on the wall, don't ya think? Bradley was digging to the body early and by the fourth Rios was done, I mean he started throwing slow arm punches, the guy was totally depleted. He was in the ring, but he didn't look like he was fighting long before the stoppage. I don't mean to take anything away from Rios and his heart, but a continued body attack can do that to anybody. He looked worse than ever before imo, some of that clearly has to do with the layoff and the weight.
