Pacquiao "danny garcia could be potential opponent'

After earlier saying that there are ongoing negotiations for a rematch with Floyd Mayweather, Manny Pacquiao did not mention the brash American as a possible opponent for his farewell fight.

Pacquiao, 36, also trimmed down his choices to four names and excluded Juan Manuel Marquez, who recently stated he won't fight Pacquiao again regardless of the money.

"We have Amir Khan, Danny Garcia, Terrence Crawford or Timothy Bradley (as potential opponents)," Pacquiao told Emirates 24/7.

"But I don’t know yet, a lot of names have been given to me by my promoter Bob Arum. We are yet to finalise anything."

Recent reports circulated that Pacquiao and his former sparring partner Amir Khan have agreed to fight in April next year. While Pacquiao's camp vehemently denied that a fight has been agreed upon, the Filipino ring icon says he's not closing his door for a possible matchup.

"I’ve not talked to Bob Arum yet, but it’s possible," said Pacquiao, referring to a potential showdown with Khan. "Of course if there is no problem about the negotiation then why not." —JM

Damn highly unlikely this fight happens because of arum and haymon. But I would love to see this fight between two top dogs.
And it also would be hilarious if danny got the fight over khan.

"Swift" has been slower in his last few fights. I take Pac by decision. He's a little too unpredictable for Danny to time. It takes a guy of Marquez level countering to get that on Pac and it still took several fights for Marquez to actually KO him.

Personally I think Pac would school Danny.

Even if Haymon/Arum worked together to make this fight (they won't), I can't see Haymon sacrificing one of his undefeated stars to Arum's cash cow. Especially since it's supposed to be his last fight so Danny wouldn't even have the chance to avenge his loss.

I think Pac would beat either of them but I think Khan has a better chance stylistically to pull the upset, where as Danny's would be relying on a KO or multiple knockdowns. Haymon probably feels the same way.

I was always under the impression that Khan was very popular in Britain but a lot of posters in other threads have said his popularity there is not really what we here in the U.S. think it is.

Plus Danny seems to be the guy who gets the big NBC primetime cards for PBC where as Khan fought Algieri on SpikeTV.

This is another great reason to have this fight. Danny can probably take all of Manny's punches as opposed to khan one hard hit and he's buzzing

Let's not get carried away and call it "granite". Remember that Peterson had Danny doing to booty dew on the ropes in the last couple of round.
