In Nov 2014 an somewhat unknown and up and comer named James Degale sent Andre Ward a contract desiring a fight , Ward turned the offer down probably because he didnt even know who the fu.k this guy was . At the time DeGale had ONLY 1 notable name on his résumé which was Grooves , of whom he lost to . Only after beating Dirrell THIS YEAR has DeGale's name become somewhat of a staple with those who follow the sport . Up until this point Dirrell is the ONLY recognizable win on his résumé .

To suggest that Ward ducked DeGale when no one barely knew who this guy is , is not only asinine , but is extremely reckless . I sent Ward a contract to fight me 6 months ago and got no response , does that mean he fears me too ?
I find it a disservice to even have to address such ******ity . If I wanted to , I could easily say that DeGale is ducking a Grooves rematch as Grooves has requested one but DeGale now thinks he's hot sh.t and won't answer the call .
You're a ****ing idiot. Virgil Hunter said an interview a couple years ago about Ward moving up to LHW, Virgil's response is that there are still opponents for Ward in the SMW division and mentioned DeGale as one of the better contenders. I'm pretty sure Hunter has talked to Ward plenty of times about fighting DeGale. By 2014 everyone in the boxing world knew who DeGale was and was already a top 10 SMW. Ward according to DeGale's manager said he pulled out of the agreement, that sounds like avoiding to me. Certainly if Ward wanted to could have fought DeGale after the Paul Smith fight instead of trying to fight C and D level LHWs on short notice.

The fact that you think of DeGale as an unknown just proves you don't know what you are talking about. DeGale has been talked about as a rising star in the SMW division the last 3-4 years. Please do yourself a favor and shut the **** up.

Imma put this in layman's terms since your clearly intellectually challenged :

If you were the well recognized , #2 P4P , Andre Ward , would u feel obligated to say yes to every up and comer that sends u a contract requesting a fight ? Andre Ward didnt even get his contractual issues straightened out till this year . That "He ducked him" argument is sooooo futile and ridiculous , but doesn't cease from being the #1 tool to smear a fighter by a moron like yourself .

Furthermore , he already fought a Degale-comparable fighter in Rodriguez , and look what he did to him . Ward is on another level , and he's earned the right if he chooses , NOT to derail the traction of an up and coming prospect . You thinking he's avoiding these guys proves how novice u are in your analysis of the sport . Trust and believe , Ward did DeGale a favor by not following up after his contract issues were resolved !

The only one intellectually challenged and naive here is you, you talk as if you know what's going on in Ward's camp when you clearly don't. You're also taking what I say out of context, I'm not smearing Ward you dumb ass. I'm just saying he's been avoiding DeGale which he clearly was. If he couldn't fight DeGale in 2013 or 2014 because of the lawsuit with Goosen certainly could have DeGale after the Paul Smith fight and by then DeGale wasn't a "prospect". And DeGale was no longer a prospect by 2014, he was a top 5 SMW.

Fact is DeGale wants to fight Ward and Ward doesn't want to. I think they will fight but it will be at LHW. And comparing DeGale to Rodriguez, are you really that ****** to believe those fighters are in the same level?

        • I think it's safe to say Ward has moved on from the Diva phase to the full on B1tch phase. He seriously needs to just stfu and fight so we can get to the Kovalev fight. Otherwise he can kick rocks and disappear. No one will miss him.

ward didn't feel obligated to fight anyone in his division for 4 years. bute #1, froch #1, stevenson #1 at 175 and former #1 contender at 168, degale top 5. he fought rodrigeuz who was barely in the top 10 and tried to fight truax, sartison, periban, zac dunn etc...why are you defending that? he tried to get easy fights for big money and it didn't work. that's a good thing. his contract dispute was entirely his fault. he had good fights offered and all he had to do was get in the ring but he tried to fight crappy fighters instead of good fighters. how is that not ducking? and he did it for 4 years.

Before Dirrell , DeGale's best opponent was Groves , of whom he lost to . Before Rod lost to Ward and before Degale lost to Groves where were they rated in the 168 division , and who was rated higher ? Like I said they are comparable , and neither one has a salient skill set above the other , although DeGale is slicker . At first u imply Ward ducked DeGale , but now you've changed the narrative to "He doesn't wanna fight him for whatever reason" , of which I have no issues with as I would agree with that . But lets not go overboard and say or suggest its fear . That's what I take issue with . And since your professing that you are aware that Ward had some contractual issues at the time , they why did u even bring this DeGale stuff up in the first place ?

He wanted GGG who happens to be high up on alot of lists , but GGG respectfully declined , after claiming ironically he wanted a Ward fight only during the time when Ward was not only contractually stalemated , but injured . GGG is supposedly the most feared man in the sport but Ward ran right to him after he cleared up all his issues , now GGG wants no part .

I never stated that Ward feared DeGale, I'm just saying he's been avoiding him. Why? I don't know. I bring up the DeGale stuff because DeGale has shown willingness to fight Ward, and Ward has not offered any responses. If you've been following the sport Ward hasn't been exactly open to the public about what his intentions are.

Even during his lawsuit with Goosen according to Ward's own words he could have gotten fights, but he said no one offered him any fights, I don't know if I believe that. I've heard rumors that DeGale has been trying to get a fight with Ward after the Chad Dawson fight. Now we have this article about Ward complaining about moving to LHW. If he's complaining about moving to LHW certainly there are opponents in the SMW division that are more than a challenge for him such as DeGale, the Dirrell brothers, and Badou Jack.

In terms of skill and talent DeGale is obviously above Rodriguez. What has Rodriguez done since losing to Ward? Nothing. DeGale on the other hand is recognized as the best SMW right now.

Why am I defending that ?

Because , fu.k the Cans Ward may have attempted to line up , instead I go by how many someone has actually fought . Rodriguez was no Can , while Smith was . So now lets compare and compile ANY fighter against Ward in the LAST 8 YEARS and u tell me who besides maybe Pascal has fought less Cans than Ward ?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ?????????????????????????????????????????????????? ????????????????????
