His recent talking actions, which is the origin of this and other threads, and his lack of fights would clearly indicate that he's not trying to box in the traditional sense. Don't take me as a Ward hater, as I really want to see him box. I'm not in a damn relationship with any of these boxers, I just want to see them box. I don't give a damn about what they say outside the ring, or how much money they make.

      No he shouldn't move up.

Not as much as Ward should move up anyway.

Ward has no fights at 168, NONE. GGG has at least 2 fights at 160 left, and if Cotto/Canelo decide to just give up the WBC, then just one more fight.

If GGG wants to chase Hopkins' title defense record, then he should stay for that too. All good goals to have.

Again, when Dawson asked for the 170 catchweight and was denied, he could have called the fight off. No contracts were signed, he wasn't making any bigger money than he usually made, and he was fighting the #1 a weight class under him. No one would have blamed him for backing out. He brought it all on himself. Ward had it his way because Dawson gave it to him, and any other fighter would have done the same thing if in Ward's position.

TL;DR saying Ward had Dawson come down in weight is BS. That's where you lied lol
The focus here isn't Dawson's ******ity but WARD. Ward is the focus.

If he had agreed to just one pound over 168, he could've been the Light-heavyweight Champion already.

How is Ward the focus when Ward didn't make the initial offer? Again, name anybody in the history of boxing that was given stipulations as a part of a possible matchup that favored them, only to REJECT those stipulations and counter offer with something that favored their opponent. ANYBODY EVER. And who would give Ward credit for winning a 175 belt at 169? Who would say that Dawson was not drained because Ward gave him 1 pound? Stop it with the straw man argument please.

Putting the blame on Ward for taking a deal from an opponent that ended up not being beneficial for said opponent is ******, because no other fighter would have not taken the deal Ward was offered. Imagine Manny Pacquiao being challenged by Oscar De La Hoya at 147, only for Manny to say "Oh no! You haven't fought there in ages! Let's do a catchweight of 148 so you can be more comfortable " Gimme a break :/

We don't blame Ward in retrospect, but we're gonna use the Dawson situation for ammunition for the current situation. As in that GGG does not have to do a damn thing but what he is already doing. It's not his turn to move up and accommodate Ward the way that Chad Dawson did, while nothing is asked of Andre but to keep fighting at 168.

            • Which brings us right back to the topic of this thread, which are Ward's vary own words "They pressure me to move up, not other". YES, "they" are pressuring you because it is your turn to move up. You've got nothing at 168.

You are just sniffing around for a big money fight against smaller fighters coming up. The reigning Light-Heavyweight Champion Chad Dawson moved down for you. So yes, it is your turn to move up. GGG will be a Super-middleweight eventually, just not on your terms.

No one was even talking about GGG. Golovkin has already stated that he isn't moving up, and Ward will officially be a LHW in 2016, so how the hell did GGG even get into this argument? For boredom's sake, I'll entertain this a bit further.

Ward never put anyone at 175 on notice, said he would fight anyone at 175, or asserted that anyone at 175 was afraid him. Ward was minding his business, dominating 168, and was challenged by a 175 guy to a contest at 168. How that can be used as ammo against a smaller man calling out an entire division north of his own, only to backtrack when a bigger man wanted a piece of him is beyond me.

GGG and his team made that statement once, how long are Ward fans (or GGG haters) are gonna keep using it?

Ward has been sniffing around for that fight for a long time now, all because of one statement? The Title of this thread "They pressure me but not others" was a subliminal shot at GGG. He didn't have to say his name, we know who he was talking about.

I guess you missed my first group of sentences, where I noted that Ward was moving to 175, and GGG was staying where he was at. I brought up GGG calling out 154-168 because that's how the Ward-GGG situation came to fruition. I also brought it up because you you tried to draw parallels to two situations that are circumstantially worlds apart.

And yes, Ward was sniffing around for that fight because of that one statement. Golovkin was even willing to face other guys at 168, but not Ward initially. Later on, their camps even went into negotiations for it, and they concluded recently with "164 or no fight." Ward didn't oblige, and both parties have moved on. The end. Regardless of if you like or dislike either fighter, that's how it happened. Still has absolutely nothing to do with Ward fighting Dawson, but uh... yeah.
