As a Ward fan I wouldn't have mind if he stayed at 168. But he did avoid a fight with James DeGale, I don't know if he wanted to fight the Dirrell brothers because I heard he's friends with them.
So at the end of the day it was Ward's decision to move up to LHW despite the media's pressure for him to move up, and according to his own words he moved up to LHW because of a lack of opponents in SMW. He didn't even mention James DeGale in an interview about the contenders in SMW, he mentioned George Groves who's been on a losing streak, strange.Last edited by Boxingwizard; 11-07-2015, 05:31 PM.

Johnson ranked #8 MW
Berto ranked #22 WW.
And the Johnson won't be on PPV so why would I buy it?
But even still they're more worthy than Berto although I wouldn't buy it just like I didn't pay for Berto.

Andre Ward says he could move up to 175 soon
By Dan Ambrose: WBA/WBC super middleweight champion Andre Ward revealed that he's considering a move up to light heavyweight real soon. He feels that it’s tough for him to get big fights at super middleweight now, and will be speaking to his team about a move up in weight to 175.
Ward told Jim Lampley on his HBO Fight Game show last Saturday night "I don't think so [getting a fight with Sergio Martinez] for the moment due to the weight difference and size difference. All the talk from the Martinez camp is that Ward has to come down to 160. I think they mentioned 164. But I'm not sure how much longer I'm going to be at super middleweight. For me to get down to 160 or 164, I wouldn't be any good at it. It wouldn't be good for my career. So at the moment I don’t realistically think that fight [against Sergio Martinez] is going to be made. I think I would be very strong at the weight [175]. I'm not even the biggest super middleweight, so I know the fighters at light heavyweight would be even bigger. But I know the ideal situation is to go to 175 and not come back down. There's not a lot of options at 168. So in the coming weeks my team and I need to put our heads together and get creative in terms of what's going to be next."

Clueless
This guy just doesn't seem to get it. His management has convinced him that he's the next Floyd Mayweather and unfortunately he seems to have bought it. Who the **** asked you to move up in weight? Last I checked you couldn't find anyone at 168 to fight and you were asking people at 160 to move up. I'm also not sure what sanctioning body had Rodriguez at #1, but that sounds like bull****.
Ward is extremely lucky that Froch after the loss went on to have a nice string of wins, because that really validated the Super Six and his victory. Outside of that tournament, what has this guy done to warrant the acclaim and #1 P4P consideration? I understand being a loyal fan, but his resume is honestly not that impressive outside of Froch.
What exactly is Chad Dawson doing these days? Anyone heard from Kessler in 4 years? If Ward is so skilled he needs to be calling for fights with Fonfara or Chavez Jr, but more than likely he ends up fighting a no name in January.

Golovkin's potential 2016
February - Tureano Johnson in San Antonio
May - Canelo Alvarez at 155lbs at new MGM Arena
September - Andy Lee for WBO title in London
