Comments Thread For: Juan Manuel Marquez Tabs Cotto To Beat Canelo

Former four division world champion Juan Manuel Marquez pledges his support for Saul "Canelo" Alvarez as a Mexican, but he thinks WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto will win the fight on November 21st at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

Marquez, who's a vintage and brilliant counter puncher as well as a shrewd judge of boxing skills, leans towards the greater experience of Cotto. Miguel Angel has constantly fought the best, while winning world titles in four different weight divisions.

Marquez made a good point about the experience factor but l don't see how their fights with Mayweather have any relation here.

Cotto has been in the ring with any style imaginable. There is nothing Canelo can do that Cotto hasn't already seen. People talk about Canelo's speed but Cotto has been in the ring with Pacaquiao, Judah, and many others with more hand speed than Canelo.

On the other side, Canelo has never been in the ring with a guy with the power or the body punching skills of Cotto.

        Bruuuuh

Nelo has shared the ring with Mosley, Trout, Angulo, Lara, Mayweather & Kirkland and people STILL talk as if Nelo doesn't have much experience, cmon son stop it

At his young age Canelo has been around and came back, if he loses it's not going to be because of experience, it's going to be because he is not going to be able to handle Cotto's movement...the number is out on how to beat Canelo, apply the sweet science and you good!

Marquez knows more about boxing than all of us put together

Basicly means that cotto will win
Canelo is an 8 round fighter
Then it's all bad he gasses and starts huffing and puffing

Kirkland is pretty damn powerful and Mayweather has a deadly jab to the stomach

Just stop it, of course Cotto has more experience but it isn't like Nelo is a green rookie, look at his resume!

It dont but boxers are prideful and will always inject their selves and fights into the convo no matter what. Ward does it when hes commentating, Jones does it, Tarver does it, everyone does.
