Comments Thread For: Roman Gonzalez Still Waits For Opponent in Feb/March

Being one of the leading figures in boxing, Nicaraguan triple world champion Roman "Chocolatito" Gonzalez have traveled over to Las Vegas, Nevada to witness the fight between Timothy Bradley and Brandon Rios at the Thomas & Mack Center.

Gonzalez will be there to support his stablemate, Olympic gold medal winner Ryoto Murata, who makes his American debut on the undercard. Their mutual promoter is Akihiko Honda of Teiken Promotions.

I'd rather see him in with Ruenroeng for a unification. Gonzalez takes out Por Chokchai inside of four rounds.

Does this site have amnesia? You literally posted an article stating Gonzalez-Ruenrong was in the works just a few days ago, yet there's zero mention of it in this article.

When champions have a top fighter as mandatory, the org gives them an exemption to fight a no-hoper. When champions want to fight the best, the orgs force a mandatory so they have to fight a no-hoper (this guy never fought outside of Thailand, last fight was vs a guy making his debut).

Nothing against Thai fighters, there have been some real good ones but in general they have the most inflated records of any nationality, boxers with 50+ wins against random Thai fighters with 3-6 records. At least make the guy fight one eliminator before ordering he gets a shot at arguably the best fighter in the world.

Man I thought they were already negotiating with Amnat.

well if he fights more than 4 times a years at least 1 or two would be "cans".

Amnat has a fight in Dec so if there was going to be a deal it wouldn't happen til end of year or early next
