Why lie? You know he was willing to go up for Chavez and Froch, no 168 tuneups needed. Both of those are way better than Smith, Murdock or Brand. Hell Froch is Wards career best win.

Ward's team told the LA times that Ward plans on fighting 3 times in 2016 with the third fight being against Kovalev.

So if Kovalev plans on fighting three times in 2016 than so will Ward. The injury is practically minor, it's just a swelling on the Knee.

So it never was HBO who said Ward was fighting Serg. Now we know exactly what is going to happen. Ward is going to demand 80%, the fight has to be in Oakland and Kovalev can only have a 5 week camp.

This is a fight that won't happen.
