Would making the fights shorter make boxing more popular?

I think if fights were shorter boxing would be more entertaining as boxers could go full mode all six rounds and not fight the first six hard and then cruise the rest as it happens in boxing now a days.

Fights aren't too long, there's just to many boring fighters who think running and jabbing, and constantly grabbbing is a form of entertainment that people want to see.

      And it's not.

Put on a Floyd fight in front of casuals and listen to how many people say, "that's why boxing sucks, its all dancing now."

Black people be like, "he slick doe"

Absolutely not. In fact I think they should go back to 15 rounds.

I agree. Its fighters that make fights boring not the length of the fight.

If you make fights shorter you take away the highly important tactical aspect so forget it. 12 rounds for championship fights is ok. I would prefer 15 rounds if not for medical reasons.

Yes if fights were shorter it would become BKB and you take a lot of the tactical aspect away. In fact I wish they would go back to 15 rounds also. To me a good fight goes by to fast, and going back to the 15 rounds will make a huge difference when it comes to the fighters who really take training serious.

You would need a small ring cause you will still have runners and Body wrappers like Mayweather and Ward

With the history boxing has it'd seem weird to lower rounds nowadays. It'd be changing the sport drastically.

I'm for changes, but I think that'd be a big one. I do suspect fun fights would happen more often. I mean its hard to keep track of boxing with all the rounds. In MMA its hard not to forget who won each round, but who the f#ck is remembering who won round 8 in boxing. So many rounds seems to make fights more forgetable just cuz who can remember all those rounds.

I wouldn't mind seeing longer rounds that'd help get the rounds length lowered. Have like 3, 5min rounds for rookies, 5, 5min rounds for developed fighters & 7, 5 min rounds for championship level fighters. Always thought it was ****** to have an even number of rounds when you basically get 1 point a round. If so many fights weren't mismatches they'd probably be a **** ton more draws.
