  • Should HBO make a Trinidad-Vargas episode of 'Legendary Nights'?

HBO Legendary Nights: The Tale of Trinidad-Vargas

HBO needs to cancel (or at least put on the back burner) Jim Lampley's lackluster show The Fight Game and bring back Legendary Nights. What do you think about this idea?

        Nope. Make one of Trinidad-Hopkins.

Why do you think it should is a better question.

I think DLH vs Vargas is a better topic. Two guys hated each other... Etc.... Went to war... Etc. compelling story!

            Why not both?

As much as I loved Trinidad-Vargas (one of my favorite fights ever), seems kinda redundant if you do a Hopkins-Trinidad. But if they did it, who am I to complain? I'd happily watch.

Tell the truth: how closely were you following the sport back then?

                  Very closely!

                  Make your case!

Explain why you think what you think. I am open to new ideas.

                  Hopkins - Trinidad I get!

Vargas wasn't in his prime when he stepped in the ring with De La Hoya -- it was just 2 years after his war with Trinidad.

Vargas-Trinidad was a thrilling shootout with a brutal finish. I'm surprised Jay Nady let the fight go on that long.

Both Trinidad and Vargas were champions, in their prime, undefeated, had high knockout percentages... and it was Mexico vs Puerto Rico.

De La Hoya-Vargas did not have these factors prior to the fight.
