I think being on Cotto undercard would have given him more exposure than having his own HBO timeslot.

But if he can get a better opponent, better for Ward I suppose. The Brand fight was just an easy money grab. It would not prepare him for Kov in the least.

Let's not be trolls about it and see what actually plays out.

Now ya can calm down for now..... and then continue your internet tirades like the children some/most of you are.
Actually this makes Ward look even worst. Eventually HBO was like we can't put this **** fight on the card.

But seriously Ward needs to fight some real comp, Gonzales was available since August but was never considered by team Ward.

If HBO is expecting a better opponent, they'll need more time than a December fight. It makes alot of sense to do a split-site double header with Kovalev/Pascal.

Probably mark Ward's 2015 year as another bust. Goosen wins again.

Hopefully they put in a fight worth watching.

Any coincidence that Ken Hershman signed Ward's deal, gives his resignation, and then this?

Everyone taking this as a fact. Chill out guys.

As a boxing fan would love to have Ward fighting real competition instead of Brand at LHW.

If this is true, then use the ****ng time to find a worthy opponent.

ward usually draws over 1m on regular hbo. i doubt the cotto ppv sells that much

if this means he's facing a live body then it's good news

I don't agree. I think this ppv might only sell 600k-700k and I don't think the Ward fight would've got replayed the following week. Ward on his own show should get 1.0-1.3mill and then be available On-Demand for anyone suffering insomnia.

Are you joking? Do you really wish to see Ward booed in Quebec (just before the Kova-Pascal fight?)

I have no interest in buying the PPV just for one fight. The Miura fight doesn't interest me.

But maybe I am in the minority.
Having Ward on the undercard would have just been a bonus for me, but this will have no negative impact as far as sales. If there are so called boxing fans that aren't gonna watch this fight, than I'm sorry there not boxing fans.

The same people saying they won't pay for this prob payed for the Floyd vs Berto GARBAGE, if there was EVER a fight not to pay for that was the epitome of it.
