Povetkin made it easy. Wach is not a contender. Just because he could take steroids & take a punch doesn't mean anything. I'd pick him over Molina but Duhaupas would beat him in my opinion. Wach's best win is what? Tye Fields or Jason Gavern? Wach got a title shot because he beat Tye Fields. He had done nothing to deserve a title shot at Wlad. It was a clear cherry pick just like Molina was for Wilder. Povetkin now has wins over Charr, Perez, Takam & Wach since losing to Klitschko. All those wins are by stoppage which is pretty impressive. I'm a little disappointed Wilder gets to make a 3rd voluntary defence but it's Povetkin's handlers fault for taking this Wach fight instead of waiting. It was a good win but it just prolonged his wait. He could be 37 by the time he gets his shot. The older he gets the harder it will be to beat Wilder. I do think Povetkin is the 2nd best HW on the planet though...

If this was a top flight heavyweight fight its time to ban Heavyweights!
These young men were horrible and neither could be sparring partners to past greats. Anyone watching these glorified "boring spar sessions" and doesn't see them as such is blind.
Neither man had any stamina at all and the lack of accuracy was a joke. Both offer no defense to speak off so missing is unbelieveable! They stunk!
Pathetic and a waste of time!

Very good performance by Alexander Povetkin. He showed good speed and excellent stamina against the bigger man.
Mariusz Wach definitely has a chin of iron - Povetkin hit him flush with a lot of big shots but he wouldn't go down.

Wilder hasn't proven he can handle someone with Povetkin's movement, someone who's going to be jumping in and out and showing angles. He's been facing slow fighters like Stiverne, Molina and Duhaupas who have no speed at all. Wilder doesn't have an answer when fighters get close to him. He doesn't clinch and doesn't have a good inside game at all. He just covers up with a high guard. You need to be able to have one of those things against Povetkin. You can't just expect to keep him at the end of the jab for 12 rounds and throw 1-2 combinations. Wach tried that early, Povetkin adjusted, he started bobbing and weaving more and catching him with leaping left hooks.
Wilder hasn't been preparing himself properly with his level of competition to face a guy like Povetkin.
Also, Ryabinksy will likely win that purse bid and take the fight to Russia. I don't think it'll make a difference tbh.
I'd say Wilder opens at around -200

Povetkin stopped big and strong guy that survived 12 runds by Klitschko, and you guys say, thatīs not good enough?
While Wilder is fighting nobodies, Povetkin is fighting Klitschko contenders..

The double standard in this thread is ridiculous.
Duhapaus>Wach, he's beaten the better competition, he too has never been stopped. The only thing Wach has proven is he could get his ass beat for 12 rounds, while on steroids, against Wlad.
People keep talking about Wilder being chinny? Povetkin has been rocked and buckled against Wach, Takam, Huck, Klitschko lmao. I don't see them posting gifs of those.
