Comments Thread For: WBC on Board With Chavez Jr. vs. Badou Jack Bout

World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman is committed to making several fights happen in 2016.

One of them is a unification between WBC flyweight champion Roman Gonzalez and WBO/WBA flyweight beltholder Juan Francisco "Gallo" Estrada.

Another is having WBC interim-middleweight champion Gennady "GGG" Golovkin take on the winner of Miguel Cotto-Saul Alvarez, who battle for the WBC crown on November 21 at the Mandalay Bay in Las Vegas.

Imagine Chavez trying to make 168 coming off an injury. He's been really struggling to get close to that weight for 2 or 3 years, even when healthy.

Don't think he can do it. He's gonna waste a lot of people's time.

    Gonna be a circus.

WBC's preferential treatment of Chavez Jr is disgusting. Seriously look at his boxrec and count how many of his fights haven't been for some kind of WBC trinket. He'll probably lose to Jack and could still get a shot in whatever division he wants.

Good fight if it can be done right. Unfortunately it can't. That big, over-privileged baby will come in several pounds over and the title will only be on the line for Badou.

Chavez could come in at 200lbs and Jack would still smack him around.
