If Lara is serious about fighting GGG, then starting with someone like Monroe would be a step in the right direction. Another positive of this fight - everyone will see if Lara worth anything as a middleweight.

Golovkin used to fight in the " anyone from 154-168 " division.

Now its the " anyone from 159-161 except Lara " division

It's true, GGG will probably need Cotto or Canelo's scalp to go big time, so we'll see what happens there. But if Canelo meekly surrenders the belt, I can see GGG gaining some of Canelo's fans.

Your problem is this.....

Until Golovkin actually fights those guys, we can say whatever we like.

I can say Ward/Lara/Cotto/Canelo ALL beat Golovkin if he won't fight them.

Case in point.....

Ward is my guy.

You can say whatever you like about the quality of his tuneups, but there won't be too much to discuss in 10 months time.

Even if FMJ agreed to fight GGG at 154, do you really believe he would make a boatload of money?

He's already going to be 'man' handled in negotiations with Cotto or Alvarez just imagine how FMJ going to treat him and 97k PPV. Can you say no PPV money and a flat fee of 3 million take it or leave it.

How about $5/6million basic - otherwise K2 wouldn't be doing their job right

Yes he is a levels below Floyd, Canelo, Cotto but he's above Monroe. Sanchez was saying they choose Monroe over Lara because he's more well known and a bigger draw. You just admitted that's not true.

I'm not a Golovkin fanboy so I'm not up here on a pedestal defending everything that Team G says. So I'm not admitting anything. I'll repeat it - Lara could do more to move this fight on. I'd like to see the fight - it'd at least be competitive for a while and should Golovkin catch up with Lara and get him out of there, as I think he would, then his detractors would have another criticism invalidated ie, "he's slow, he would never do well against a mobile fighter. "
