But why 154 for Floyd, but not 155 for Canelo?

It's so funny dumbasses ask this, because the assumption is that Canelo is the same size as Floyd, and we all know that isn't true.

GGG comes down to 154 to meet a much smaller Floyd.

GGG doesn't need to come to 155 to meet a fighter who his same size.

I'm surprised anybody even attempts to put these two in the same box.

If you're a MW you don't need to go up or down to face a fellow MW champ. As I said, if Canelo wants a CW, he'll get it after vacating the belt

Go watch American History X if you haven't! That bathroom scene is going to be GGG at the negotiation table with his 97 PPV buys against Cotto/Saul... With your tears as lube!
You obviously didn't know, else why bring up he was 165 in the ams? Either ignorant or ******, but I'm betting on both

Well was Ward insisting on 3 tuneups vs drained SMW scrubs at 160 before meeting Floyd there, for example?

Sanchez was pretty clear the first time. He clearly said that GGG would anybody from the 154-168 division but he never actually said he'd fight them at any weight that fighter wants.

If Cotto/Canelo "do not care about the belt", let the winner walk away from mandatory and get stripped. But this "not caring" part is a lie. They very much care, because they want to lure Mayweather with all his money to fight for this belt.
Who has an overblown image of self importance? Me? hardly! Don't understand who you are referring to?

Pressure? Circumstantial pressure. You seem to be assuming Golovkin's team aren't interested in the money? I very much doubt that.

For GGG it's a combination of looking to unify the MW division - which will lead to more money and looking for other great money-making opportunities.

If Canelo-Cotto is competitive and makes loads of money on PPV then they'll want to, and be able to, schedule a re-match based on public clamor - stripped belt or not. If Team GGG try to negotiate a fight under those circumstances then either Cotto or Canelo can weigh up any Golovkin offer against a lucrative rematch against each other. If Team GGG push too hard with weight then they'll be told "go away".

Let's say Canelo knocks Cotto out in three. There is no appetite for a rematch with Cotto. Team GGG knows this. They can hold firm for a 158 CW knowing that Canelo has few other huge fights around.

It's Unfair to Ask Floyd to Fight GGG

Floyd versus GGG is a non-starter. Of course GGG would come down for Floyd. Anyone who. Charlo who just fought at 155 called out Floyd.

However, Floyd has no business getting in the ring with GGG.

GGG is too big, too strong, hits too hard for 38 year old Floyd.

Because Canelo is 20 pounds bigger than Floyd. No need to come down to fight a guy who weighs the same as you.

And why would GGG put three MW belts up at 155.

I wouldn't put much stock in GGG beating Floyd, he is too big.

Sanchez has been saying his #1 goal is unification, how does facing Floyd get him closer to achieving that?

if he can put his unification dream on hold to drain himself for Floyd, then why couldn't he put the dream on hold to move up one division and face Ward?

Floyd is retired and i hope it stays that way. For one boxing is more interesting now, look at how many fighters are competing for the top P4P spot, and also because im convinced Floyd will never receive credit for beating a drained Golovkin.
                  Look, unification is the goal.

But it's Floyd Mayweather Jr. Who wouldn't take that fight.

Just as GGG is too big to expect Floyd to fight, Ward is that much bigger than GGG.

Difference is, GGG did offer Ward a fight.

GGG is willing to come down for Floyd.

Ward isn't willing budge for anyone.

Well he will have Canelo's balls, so I'm betting he'll get a pretty Pennie for those on Ebay.

So unifying 160 isn't the priority then? It only is when Ward comes knocking? Hmmmmm...... Smells like fear.

Why aren't you championing the cause for actual 154 lb fighters?

If GGG gets that fight and wins, is he going to stay and defend it at 154? If not, what's the point? Since he's such a small middleweight, and can actually make 154, why not agree to fight the Cotto/Canelo winner at 155?
The point is a boatload of money - why is that so difficult to understand?

                      Damage control for what.

GGG has said many times he'd come to 154 to fight Floyd.

It's the kind of fight you don't turn down.

I personally don't feel like Floyd should fight GGG, dude is 38. And has no power left in those hands.
