personally i dont even consider floyd a true 154 pounder. hes a welterweight period. yes he has belts there but he should've been stripped ages ago, thats not his fault. just like manny winning a 154 strap while weighing 146 lol, its all bogus. it looks good for the resume nothing more.

this statement from sanchez means golovkin is just like every other fighter out there chasing money fights. his hardcore fans are under the impression he doesn't care about money lol. david haye himself would find a way to make 154 to fight mayweather too.

it does look kind of funny though how all of the sudden is only floyd at 154 and only froch and chavez at 168. sanchez wants the money fights, cool, who doesn't but at the moment floyd/froch/chavez are out of the question, his only money fights are a pair of 154 pounders that never weighed in at 160 before, no matter how hard you spin it, neiter canelo nor cotto are full fledged middleweights.

"but why are they fighting for a MW strap?" go ask the WBC this because they can strip cotto right now. WBC is also after money so the chances of them stripping the winner i say slim to none.

Its about making fights that public want to see happen + making money + winning where possible. This is a promoters job..............
Just contradicted yourself AND argued against GGG and his team at the same time.

      Amazing.

What a warrior, calling out a retired WW. Imagine Floyd calling out Lomachenko (similar weight diff on fight night)

168 too big do. Belts priority do

GGG is just like every fighter, wants the softest oppositition possible for most money and under best circumstances. Thats fine, just be honest.

Nah, for GGG is about ancient honor!

All fighters are after money. To some extent. The extent varies from fighter to fighter and even the same fighter and his team can act differently from year to year. The lower weights are often more about legacy as there is less money there.

Fully fledged? Cotto is lineal champ and his last 2 fights have been at MW (155-160) . I feel stronger about him than Canelo as he is blocking other 160 fighters getting a fair crack of the whip - and not just Golovkin. Geale was tremendously drained just coming down 3 lbs - looked like he'd had a flock of vampire bats feeding on him the previous night. I doubt he would have won at 160 but he's have dished out more punishment and Cotto's team knew that - didn't want that punishment - isn't that in some way cowardly or am I the only one who thinks like this?

Canelo has fought how many fights at 155 now? I get CWs for the odd fight here or there but creating a new weight division leaves a sour taste.

Nobody is calling Mayweather out at 154. Basically Sanchez pointing out that it's an option for Mayweather if he wants it. Nobody should feel obliged.

Ahh, lol, all the little Floyd fanboys. He tiny doe. Floyd beats GGG doe. GGG don't want none of 168 doe.

                  The facts:

Floyd fought at 154 doe, 2 1/2 times doe.

You can't say Floyd beats him then makes excuses doe. (Actually you can), no substance doe.

GGG hasn't fought at 168 doe, not the same as a 3 time champ doe.

155 is one pound above 154 doe. Cotto and Canelo both been somewhere in between doe.

If and when GGG goes to 168, he's not required to fight Ward in his debut doe.

                    20 defenses doe
This is basically it. All they're after is soft opposition. It's so easy to see.

First, who really believes Mayweather has finally retired? Get to next August and still no fight made then I will start to revise my opinion.

Second that is not calling out. Just saying its an option when F.M come's back.
