He made it way further than I ever expected him to in this sport.

Maidana showed what being a real prize fighter is all about. Take the tough fights, take the fights they expect you to lose in, do your best. And they can't ignore you anymore.

He was suppose to be a stepping stone for Ortiz, but he proved that idea wrong. Than it was Amir Kahn, than it was Broner, than Floyd. He was fhe underdog in every fight.

The rest of these cherry picking "a-side" fighters who fight for Haymon could learn from him.

Just hangum up champ. You already beat Mayweathers ass, just to have him run from you in a rematch. Knocking his teeth out, buckling him in both fights, biting him. You treated him like the b1tch he is.

And for that, you're my hero.

Damn, Thanks Chino... For such an exciting and surprising career. From stepping stone to giving Floyd a hell of a fight.

It seems like Argentina was just barely heating up... With Maidana possibly leaving, Lucas losing in a disappointing manner, Maravilla retiring last year, and Narvaez losing to Inoue... It seems like a drought. I hope they produce some more world class talent soon, they always bring excitement to the sport.

You had to wonder how he could ever get back into fighting shape after adding all that weight and being out for so long. Still, this is saddening news . If he's happy then that's all that matters, but there were so many good match-ups still to be made for him. I kind of expected Haymon to sort of "cash him out" when he came back though. I thought he might use him to bolster Thurman's career, or maybe an Errol Spence...someone that would just be a bad stylistic matchup for Chino; glad that that won't be able to happen, anyways.
