GGG team was also talking about returning on Feb... So look likes
Gennady Golovkin vs Tureano Johnson
Roman Gonzalez vs Amnat Ruenroeng
On HBO
Good card. I have no idea who wins Golovkin-Johnson. That is the definition of a coin flip fight. I love how Golovkin keeps giving us these 50-50 fights where you can't predict the winner 4 months ahead of time. He's a true champion.
Love it -- and haters said the Thai is a much more difficult fight (stylistically) than the Estrada rematch yet here we go another title holder in the top five ; Another Belt on Chocos resume and then he unifies Flyweight after he takes Estradas belts.Prince Patel you NEX!
He is gonna be at 51-0 in no time. Gonna own the record.

Johnson is close to becoming the IBF mandatory (or he already is), so it's best that GGG gets him out of the way now. Yes, the match-up isn't interesting at all and hopefully it doesn't go on too long.

i think johnson-o'kane was only the "semi-final" eliminator and that he will still have to face to winner of n'dam-khurtsidze to actually become golovkin's mandatory
He's a bad style match for anyone but it's not bias to enforce the rules. If he can't grapple incessantly, I don't think he's got enough offense to earn a decision. He's a smart, tough dude though. He has a way, like BHop or Wlad, to force a fight NOT to break out. Ugly but effective.
That said, I don't see this as all that realistic. He's not going to fetch much US $ and that's a lost titlist who can sell in Thailand. Be surprised if the business side made sense for Ruenroeng.
I agree on Arroyo...but that fight was close for eight and Arroyo isn't Gonzalez. Gonzalez could finish him if he got the shot.
Agree but Amnat could be the exception in that he's already shown that he'll travel if he's paid right
There's also the HBO side if they'd ok that kind of fighter even if it's a unification also do you know if a Thai has ever fought on a HBO main card not counting Zou cards I know Terdsak fought Marquez but that was Showtime I think

That's what I thought at first, but it sounds like Tureano's next. N'Dam/Khurtsidze will be #2 and have to fight someone else. Derevyanshenko is rated #10 in the IBF and will be going for a minor title in December (USBA is vacant). I was surprised when Soliman dropped out of the N'Dam fight, which probably means he got a call from Haymon again to come fight another one of his guys - Derevyanshenko? Could get N'Dam/Derevyanshenko as the eliminator then.
If we get Golovkin/Johnson & Gonzalez/Ruenrong in February, then maybe we'll get Golovkin/Lee & Gonzalez/Estrada in May/June for two complete unification bouts?

Now that Ward has moved up, who is there really to fight? Lee/Saunders, Quillin/Jacobs, Johnson, Canelo/Cotto are the best the division has outside of himself.

If and when Gonzalez/Estrada meet again, I think it'll definitely be headlining it's own card
