Gonzalez/Estrada could probably return to LA and sell out Stub Hub or fill up the Forum or Staples. HBO could do an early evening fight with Lee/Golovkin from the UK and then use the replay to lead into Gonzalez/Estrada later that night.

I still don't think HBO will cough up $2million for it. Maybe the rematch happens on Pac's next PPV.

I doubt it'll be 2M with 1M each, but I think they'll crack eventually... both men getting a lot of money.

Both are already getting a lot of money relative to the weight class when it happens... they're just trying to posture for me. What would suck if they keep it up and it collapses

They're both angling for the most they can get. They might not get 1M but I think career high purses for both will be there. IF we get to next May and are looking at Canelo-GGG (still a big IF), I think we could see it as the main event paired with the PPV replay.

these dudes could sell at all... the only ones interested in this fight are the hardcore fans..

To get the millions, you need a higher profile, or al haymon, just ask berto

Or you have to create the market for the fight. Carbajal and Gonzalez did it but had to foster it to PPV and it took several years of exposure. Gonzalez is just getting US TV attention. Not sure this could get THAT big in this market but there are ways they can get near a million.

Think they work it out some time next year.

Very good point about carbajal v gonzalez...

But carbajal had a huge following, and was a big draw in the southwest..

Roman needed to get on HBO the same time that ggg did, then this fight i could see happening sooner rather than later,, but as it stands now,, I just don't see them making it in 2016,,, estrada hasn't even been on hbo besides the zhou shiming undercard a few years ago when he beat viloria...

Roman needs to stay busy on golovkin undercards, and estrada needs to be on some canelo undercards..

this is a great fight, but to truly make it big, they need a year of exposure to casual audiences.. Right now, only hardcore fans know who they are

Estrada needs to mark a bigger spot in the Mexican American market IMO and I'm not sure how that is gauged right now. He's big IN Mexico (the Segura fight did sick TV numbers). The fight would need to get somewhere near 100K PPV at $50 to satisfy those purses; a little less with replay rights, foreign TV. That's POSSIBLE but would take a lot of work over the next year. To their credit, Spanish language TV in the US treats this like a big deal already and millions watch that. I know my interest in lower weights started with neighbors from Mexico that bought the fights that mattered to the Spanish speaking audience.

HBO needs to pair roman with ggg, and estrada with canelo for the next 2 fights or so in 2016..... early 2017 roman-estrada 2 would be a legit HBO headlining fight,,, not ppv, but a headliner on HBO..
Estrada desperately needs the hbo exposure, and pairing him up with canelo would do the trick

I think HBO sees it/wants it more as a next out for Roman after a winter fight. We'll see what the offer is.
