As previously reported, Guillermo Rigondeaux was stripped of his super bantamweight world championship by the World Boxing Organization (WBO) at their ongoing yearly convention in Florida.

The two-time Olympic gold medal winner has been inactive for over a year. Just weeks ago, the WBO's Championships Committee had alerted Rigondeaux (15-0, 10 KOs) and his promoter, Caribe Promotions, of the possibility of being stripped due to a long period of inactivity.

I'm a little disappointed reading this article, Sucks for Rigo that he's getting jerked around by the WBO and it sucks that the deal with Haymon fell apart

Its always been Caribe promotions and Rigo for his career being in shambles, Bob Arum only tried to help him even gave him many shots but his advice to Rigo was to be more exciting because the fans choose who they watch, they even gave him some scrubs who were tailormade and he didn't deliver.

Yet its always Bob Arum fault because he was racist...im getting sick of this ****** paranoid conspiracy theory bias crap.

Caribe is an incompetent promotion and Rigo loyalty to them is baffling, now he will just be inactive even more, that the Haymon deal seems to have fell off.

I wish more sanctioning bodies stripped fighters for inactivity. WBC is crooked too they let Vitali hold the heavyweight title after being inactive for so long until he announced his retirement and gave the belt up.
