Well who is the mandatory for the belt that Rigo declined to fight? did the WBO do a purse bid for a fight between Rigo and his alleged mandatory that he didn't fight? what kinda **** is that?

You watch a Top Rank fighter will slide in and pick that title up in no time, and he will never fight Rigo, WBO is Bob Arum's organization. SMDH! Please Haymon pick up this guy and make him make a couple of good paydays, he truly deserves it, this guy could've been considered a legend in the sport if he would've been given a fair chance.

The wbo can shove the belt right up their collective asses. Rigo is the real champ, and he'll school anyone who has the balls to step into the ring with him . Just ask donaire.

Rigo can't get nothing good happening. Worst thing he did was beat Donaire. Been cursed every since that fight. Remember not long ago Rigo was suggesting big things were in store starting in September. Only big things he gots going on so far is him losing or being threatened with losing his belts & fighting TBA sometime within the next 3-4 weeks for probably no title the way things are lining up.

No wonder those elite Cuban boxers aren't trying to sneak over here like they used to. Cuban trainers probably use Rigo as a cautionary tale to young boxers.

I hope he drops his manager like a hot potato. Caribe was bad for him from the beginning.

It's Caribe bro. Arum loves Rigo but Caribe is difficult to work with. Look at how well Erislandy Lara is being taken care of. It's all about management.

Rigondeaux signed a co-promotional deal with Top Rank when he won his WBA title from Rico Ramos. Arum was high on him and even stated that him and Gamboa would beat Donaire's ass if they ever fought. He put him on the Pac/Bradley undercard against Teon Kennedy and momentum was building.

But then Caribe became a pain in the ass to work with. Arum tried to make Rigondeaux vs. Marroquin on the Chavez Jr./Martinez undercard but Caribe sued Top Rank because it was in violation of the co-promotional agreement. Arum was obviously pissed but they were able to work out a deal.

Arum got him another co-feature against Poonsawat Kraetingdanggum on the Donaire/Arce card to build the Donaire/Rigo fight. Unfortunately Poonsawat failed the pre-fight blood test and it was called off. Then the Donaire fight was being negotiated and Caribe was making things real difficult as usual. You can see the article about Arum talking about how Rigo needs to re-evaluate the people "he has in his ear". They worked out a deal and Rigo made $750K.

Arum then tried to get him a fight against Chris Avalos in Macau on a Zou Schiming undercard. Caribe said no because they felt Rigo should be making more than Schming. So once again they pissed off Arum so what does he do? He pays them back and says "OK, you want to headline, I'll give you a headline". So he talked HBO into getting him a headliner in Atlantic City on the same night as Judah/Malignaggi. The fight severely flopped and Rigo was the victim of Arum shoving it up Caribe's asses.

After that Rigo just fought out his contract and became a Caribe only fighter. Gary Hyde worked to get him fights in Japan but they turned their nose up at it because "a champion of his status shouldn't have to travel to Japan." Hyde also worked out deals with Roc Nation and Frank Warren but Caribe rejected because they didn't like the terms for them.

I'm a Super Rigo fan but this is all on him and his team. I can't feel sorry for them being delusional, difficult to work with and burning every bridge in the industry.

Now all of a sudden the WBO wants to make fighters take on mandatories.

Pacquiao was WBO welterweight champ from 2009 to 2012.

He never made a mandatory defense. WBO didn't strip him.

Rigondeaux, wbo and caribe promotion are to blame themselves.
Rigo : for staying with caribe and not signing with Haymon , who offered him a contract.
Caribe : for not getting rigo fights and not accepting Haymon contract .
Wbo : for stealing the belt and awarding it to bob arum .

Rigondeaux carrer is almost over , all are to be blame .

Hit and not be hit ; can not hit what you don't see .

The problem isn't just the mandatory. Rigo is not fighting ANYONE and when he does they are unranked fighters. From 2009 to 2012 Manny fought 3 top P4P best fighters in the world (Cotto, Marquez, Bradley) so of course WBO will make exceptions. Who is Rigo fighting? They have given him more time they they give most fighters and he still defending his belt and has done nothing to deserve anymore exceptions.

This ain't about WBO, Bob Arum, or fighters ducking him. The biggest problem is Rigo and his management around him. Sure we can name a few top dogs who have ducked him. Ok but why aint he fighting any of the rest of the top 10 ranked guys? Those guys would all jump at a title shot with him. Why the long layoffs? It's because he is asking for too much money turning down fights because his team is promising him bigger paydays only those "bigger" paydays don't come so he is just sitting on the sidelines. Arum has been out of the picture a long time now and his career is still F'd up so we can't blame this mess on Arum. Now you hear all these stories of networks and other promoters not wanting to deal with his management team and all the headaches they cause. Rigo needs a clean slate and drop his promoter, manager and anyone else in his ear who have given him nothing but bad advice.
