Actually, Ward fought as a Light Heavyweight in the olympics at the age of 19. LHW in amateurs is 165-175.
Just because he drained to 160 in his first 10 fights against absolute nobodies doesn't mean he was ever a 160 fighter. Don't kid yourself.

We can argue over a couple of pounds, but I think it's far to say that if Ward weighed in at 172 in his fight vs Smith, and rehydrated the average amount (8 lbs), he would have weighed 180 during Smith fight. Which gives us a difference of 3.5 lbs.

On the other hand, GGG's rehydrated to 168 during Lemieux fight, which would give you a 12 lb difference between him and Ward.

That's what I said...it's possible he is even 185 m8...he was very lean when he boxed smith...no fat on him at all....and that's the only reason why he is not 168 now....you take almost 3 years of as a paid athlete you automatically gain a natural 5lb....you just do...legs get bigger...your chest grows as well ..that's why it called filling out.....Leonard was even the same when he came back for hagler...he never made more than 151 for a fight before he retired....3 years later 158 he weighed in...they don't understand that...that's why canelo will struggle to make 154 now he is growing all the time
