I'm not too confident with the "verbal agreement". If there isnt a contract in place, there's nothing binding Ward to face Kov in the fall.
Dan said the deal is "agreed to", but if Ward steps into the ring on Nov 21 then its assured that the deal was actually SIGNED, because HBO will not get clowned again like they did last year by taking the whole Stevenson-Kovalev thing on faith.......

From what I have been reading, a lot of posters seem happy with no Adonis/kov and no ward /GGG but maybe ward/kov by the end of 2016 if the deal is signed. BS kov/Pascal rematch, ward in with a bum and GGG gets another 15-1 underdog unless he goes to 155.

this. Man, if this was going down on Showtime or PBC we'd be reading so much negativity.

I don't see why people are surprised.

He tried to get a fight with lil' g but 164 doe!

So now he has it signed that he'll fight those tune ups and then the kovalev fight.

Where are those that said he's scared of kova?

              Clarkson beat Agnew in 2015.

This confuses me also. He beat Agnew and 2 fights later he smashes prospect Jerry Odom. To me that's the best matchup of the guys listed.

If fighting 2 tuneups will definitely lead to a showdown with Kovalev then that's fine. I just see problems at the negotiation table when Ward will want big money yet has done nothing to market himself and build up the fight in the meantime.

Pretty frustrating keeping up with Ward these days. I accept that he is a great fighter, in and among the best of this generation for sure, but still...The guy just needs to get back in there.

I know I'm not alone in being tired of hearing about Ward this and Ward that without him actually doing anything.
