I'm a Canelo fan but I would disappointed if this fight doesn't happen within a year of him beating Cotto. I can understand Canelo wanting to have one fight at the full 160 but if he is the champ then GGG deserves his shot.
I think its just a high risk low reward. GGG is not a mainstream draw yet and Canelo and Golden Boy figure they can fight anyone and do the same numbers and make the same money, if not more, fighting other guys. Unfortunately GGG nor the WBC can force this fight.
