Cotto is the one who wanted the catchweight at 155 cause he wanted it to be a title defense. So the catchweight is Cotto demand (although I doubt Canelo fought him on it).

There's a reason during the negotiations of the Cotto fight Canelo didnt want to fight at 155, he wanted to have the fight at least at 156 because he is getting bigger, but gave in to Cottos demands to make the fight happen.
