Comments Thread For: Hopkins: No Debate, Gonzalez is One and GGG in Top 3

According to former unified middleweight and light heavyweight champion Bernard Hopkins - there is no debate. He stamps down WBC flyweight champion Roman 'Chocalatito' Gonzalez (44-0, 38KOs) as the best pound-for-pound fighter in the sport and places IBO/IBF/WBA champion Genandy 'GGG' Golovkin (34-0, 31KOs) within the top three.

    Pound for Pound #1???

The agenda of Hopkins is so transparent since Golden Boy has Gonzalez. He is a very good boxer, but by no means # 1 pound for pound, based on beating who? GGG, has already defeated several world class boxers and former world champions and is getting better each and every fight. Ricardo Lopez, IMO would have melted "Chocolatito" like hot fudge..

i agree ggg should be moving up the p4p but hopkins since getting a bigger stake in gbp is not the same. all he does is talk about how great hbo fighters are i mean nothing wrong with it i just hate how everything he says now has an agenda

Well Finto would killed anyone really so its not a fair comparison or atleast that statement dosent mean much. You make it sound like GGG should be #1, i dont think either fighter has done enough to be numero uno. You could make an argumente for Choco considering he beat Estrada but then again the circumstances where in his favour...

CHOColatito is not with golden boy, get your facts straight. Chocolatito has faced more current and former champs than ggg. Youre a casual so pls stop writing.

Based on what I just saw of Lopez, Gonzalez would've been way too much for the wide-punching Lopez.

Don't hate on the new generation of fighters because you're emotionally attached to the fighters of your younger days. I don't even see Gonzalez possibly drawing with anyone. Lopez had a draw on his record and later avenged it with a SD victory. Gonzalez leaves no doubt as to who the victor is in the ring.

Finito lost vs Rosendo Alvarez. That draw makes my stomach sick till this day.

Hopkins is very big on Golovkin. Not just in this article.

Golovkin is an outstanding fighter alright, no question.

Im big on him, if not #1 he is definitely right up there.

I woulda thought Kovalev should get more airtime, he should be up there too but he doesn't seem to get mentioned that often. Maybe its his style, but I'm surprised hes not well-ranked by everyone.
