ppl often focus so much on left/right handedness...
dont forget, some people are right handed but left footed, or vice versa.
but like a previous poster said: it depends on fighter...

.... Ward basically had been a one-armed fighter, due to a busted up right shoulder, since about the time he was heading into the Olympics. Finally had the opportunity to clean up the shoulder, prior to the Rodriguez fight, and he's getting back to throwing both hands with conviction.

Beyond that, you see any orthodox fighter switch southpaw and throw a straight left, and I'd bet that'd "look weird" too.

I generally agree.. i HAVE to have my strong hand back... i couldnt imagine doing it any other way. Wouldnt flow right. switching stance can confound your opponent however. So doesn't hurt for an orthodox for instance to switch southpaw momentarily to throw a lead hook as a novelty. if you permanently convert, however, I can't see both hands developing the same power and fluidity they would attain naturally.

When an orthodox throws a right hand.. it torques the body just so that it's a perfect segue to a left hook. The left hook henceforth becomes an extension of that right hand's force. Everything flowing naturally and the power and leverage going where it should. Even a left hook thrown without the benefit of a right hand still has power because of muscle memory. You are just picking up on the flow halfway. Converted stance guys are doubling down on one tool. They can't possibly flow as well from right to left and generate two handed power that compares.
