Both will require a catch-weight so the argument is unnecessary. I think that Cotto will demand a much bigger share of the purse against GGG if he beats Canelo, which would further hinder the fight from happening.

Where are they? Thinking of excuses as to why Canelo is saying this stuff right now.... making it harder for his fans and making them look bad. They'll be back soon enough though, with some good theories.

... But in case Cotto wins, Cotto has no business whatsoever in fighting GGG even at, let's say, 154.1... Cotto is too small, way too small for Golovkin. That is why I think Cotto would vacate or try to call FMJr out (with GGG agreeing to get some serious step aside money).

        ... Questions?
Canelo/team GGG are trading preliminary barbs, I doubt either of them believes in what they want, they'll probably compromise on a weight or purse cut.. maybe 157 or something. IMO it's all fluff right now.

Cotto is small, but he has been fighting MWs for quite awhile now. He also fought Martinez at 159 and Geale at 157, if he asks Golovkin to come down to 154 or 155 for him, that's equivalent to admitting to being scared or saying he's better than Martinez (although Martinez was damn old at the time)

ODH was quoted as saying they may wait a year or two for GGG. Now I am not sure how long ago that was.

Yeah, I saw 155 then I saw GGG's response, which led me to believe it will not happen.

How clever of you to call Canelo Canelita. Is that supposed to imply he is not a man? You have so much hate for Canelo it's unbelievable. You make almost daily hate threads trashing him and saying how Cotto will thrash him. Do you think all these Canelo hate threads will help Cotto beat Canelo? Canelo is a solid 3 to 1 betting favorite to beat Cotto. The people who put their money where their mouth is know he is a better fighter than Cotto.

I am a huge Trinidad fan and also a huge Canelo fan and I am right here. As a Canelo fan my attentions are on him getting a great win over Cotto. After he hopefully beats Cotto I will see how he handles being middleweight champ and fighting GGG in defense of that title. If Canelo tries to keep the middleweight title and make GGG fight him for that title at even an ounce below 160 pounds that would absolutely be wrong. It would be just as wrong as Cotto making Geale fight him at a catchweight of 157. Canelo has not done that yet. I am not going to trash him for a crime he has yet to commit. If he actually insists on keeping the WBC middleweight title and defending it at a catchweight I will trash him for it just as I trashed Cotto for doing that.

Cowardnelo fans are hiding behind the curtains. They will not post, the haters talking chit spread out like cucarachas when Cowardnelo said that his body is not ready for GGG and King Cotto said that GGG was next!

Just with how Cotto seems to operate I think its easy to suggest Canelo is more likely to fight anyone more than Cotto would be. Cotto just seems to have a very slow & workmanlike approach to making fight deals. And whenever that is the case I think there is much more chance for a fight to fall out.

canelo demanding 155 and golovkin demanding 160 are just the starting points. once they actually start negotiating they can reach a compromise. wasn't it cotto who pulled canelo down to 155? so canelo's next fight will probably be at 156 anyway, which will give team ggg even more leverage in negotiations
