Pascal doesn't get nearly the respect he deserves. No body in their right mind given the selling ability of Jean would want to fight a freak like Kovalev let alone twice. If no Stevenson or Ward then nothing wrong with this rematch.

The rematch is unnecessary but if it wasn't Pascal, it would be some unknown, unworthy fighter who would be classified as a bum. People complain regardless. Its why fighters don't give a f#ck about the fans.

Ward vs Pascal would have been great!! Ward though wants to bring up 168 pounds to 175 to fight. That's not how u get ready for Kovalev.

I agree, GLAD NSAC declined that **** fight, I think they're doing him a favor. Too damn good to be taking **** fights like that.

What's the point here? Why are they trying to make this fight happen? I don't think there were any doubts regarding who the winner was the last time, plus Pascal looked very bad in his last fight, how can he get another title shot?

I thought hbo did a horrible job scoring it. a lot of experts and other broadcasts had pascal winning. kovalev will make more money fight pascal again than he would fighting someone else save for stevenson

Exactly... However, I'm assuming it's going to be on free HBO (in the US)...In which case, it's a most welcomed rematch...It'll be interesting to see how Pascal changes his approach, especially with RJJ whispering in his ear.

I also want to add that a Lemieux-GGG rematch is just as welcomed provided the Canelo/Cotto fight can't happen right away... Because who else is there for GGG at MW? It's the exact same situation as with Kovalev.

Just goes to prove even if there are no promotional issues, purse bids and all that crap, Stevenson would duck, duck, duck. Pascal is his fellow Canadian, why can't he give the fans what they want?

I don't like rematches, but what can we do? Chickenson ducked both fighters. And I don't know why they're still defending the duck. Just look at Duckinson. He's always quacking. Makes me puke.

Chickenson vs Pascal would have been more meaningful.

You guys remember, Kathy & daughter Nicole Duva said, the purse bid was too early. They came up with: "Stevenson clan wanted the purse bid last time, not because they wanted the fight, because they wanted Sergey to walk away from it because he had to."

Thereby, Stevenson/Michel/Haymon/WBC deliberately waited, patiently enough to set again a third purse bid for november 2015, to fight in January 2016. But Kathy Duva sets up a deal to fight Jean Pascal in January also, hoping to cause a delay in the discussions for a fight between Kovalev and Stevenson.
*A lot of you don't want to admit it, but your Kovalev is the real coward, just face it.

look at the position they're in, stevenson is not in the picture. pascal brings more money and fans than gonzales, so that's the next logical step.

im just surprised pascal is willing to get in the ring with kovalev again, that beating was brutal. yet he literally begged for another chance.

pascals weakness is sloppy footwork, if he could evade kovalev he could win because he was countering him at will, he just doesn't know how to get out the way when kov comes throwing bombs.
