Andre Ward and Miguel Cotto stand out. Canelo is improving and showing new dimensions as well. I expect him to evolve into a complete fighter.

To a lesser degree Tim Bradley but his defense lacks in the pocket.

what about gennady? He impressed me with his highly accurate heavy jab. It was against an over matched opponent, but he dominated the outside in that bout.

I'm not sure about his competence fighting backwards though

He's most comfortable at range and controlling his distance. He hasn't really showed me much of an inside game.

He can be had if an opponent frequently gets inside and nails that body imo

That's why I think Canelo has a decent chance. He can throw from all ranges and is a committed body puncher.

Haha...rarely happens but only cuz he measures his distance so well and turns his opponent or slides out.

Cotto is most definitely not one lol Jeez, have you guys not seen him get pummelled going back and on the ropes numerous times? Those are two of the criteria.

With Pacquiao's prime gone and Hopkins sliding away, I can't name those two. So who is there to name? Possibly Golovkin. Possibly Bradley although he gets hit a lot when he tries to brawl...erm...Kovalev, who I rate very highly is not exceptional going back and Wlad, my p4p no.1 is far from a great inside fighter.

In terms of fighters with the ability to develop into "all terrain" types, I'll name three: TC, Danny Garcia and Saul Alvarez. An honourable mention to DeGale too. However, TC needs to up his work rate and improve his inside game, Garcia needs to improve boxing backwards and Alvarez needs better stamina and an improvement in ring IQ.

DeGale just needs better fitness and he needs to fight that mid range advantage that all the top fighters can pick naturally. He is very good in a close, combination barrage or fighting at long range but when the fight is mid range, he seems slightly lost. So there's definite potential.
