I think it will be the first time Manny has had to put in any effort to make weight in a long time. His unofficial was over 150 against Mayweather. It's always a risk as an older fighter but in this case I think 140 would not cause Pac any issues.

Still surprises me though - I figured that if this fight was gonna happen it would be at 144 or 145.

Doesn't matter. From 141 to 147 is a welter. When was the last time Pac made 140 or under? Hatton? Almost 10 years ago? Being a welterweight doesn't mean you have to come in at 147, anything 140+ to 147 will do.

Smh at this post. I don't know where to begin - from counting 6 years as "almost 10 years ago", to ignoring the fact that most actual welterweights weigh 150s-160s and that most people with Pac's walking around weight are fighting at 135 and 140.

Well either way you slice it, whatever weight its at, it benefits Crawford since he is a lot bigger than Manny.

Crawford moving up in weight helped his chin as well, he got rocked by Gamboa at 135 but he was killing himself to make that weight, at 140 dierry jean hit him back to back with flush overhand rights and he didnt even wobble.

A catchweight of 144 would benefit Crawford here since he walks around at 170 just like 144 helped Algieri because he didnt have to cut much weight since his last fight was at 140, the 15o catchweight also helped Margarito, Roach wanted the fight at 147 but Arum made it at 150 because Margo was having trouble to make the weight, WBC got involved and gave Pac and Margo the chance to fight for a vacant belt.(money grab from WBC).

Whether its at 140, 144, or 147 Crawford will be too much for Pac, catchweight has no negative implications for him here.

What's wrong with it is the torch does not get passed even is Crawford wins. Crawford is a protected nobody. Pac is clearly close to retirement. Fraud Pedcheater Jr robbed us of a torch passing. Now Arum is gonna do it too. If one of the young lions doesnt get a shot at either Pac or Pedcheater Jr, then no torch is passed. This leaves a serious gap in lineage. Bad enough with all these fake belts. Khan, Thurman, one of those guys deserves the fight. Even if they lose they can come back like Vitali did after getting smashed by Lewis....but at least there would be a lineage and a connection.

Business wise it does make sense to match Bud with #48. Win, lose or draw his carreer would not be affected but only benefited from the world wide exposure and in ring experience with an ATG like #48.

Look at Saul Alvarez he took the Mayweather Jr fight and lost a loopsided decision, that didn't stop him from becoming the superstar he is today, Crawford would get the same treatment.

Since i am a fan of the sport, not the businees, i would like to see Terence take on Jose Benavidez next. I do not believe Crawford has fully developed as a boxer..a fight with Benavidez would only help him get closer to his full potential. That is the fight i want to see next.

Another dumb one who knows nothing about boxing. Don't you know that Crawford going southpaw puts him straight in Manny's wheehouse for the straight left over the jab. If Gamboa can get to Crawford, I 'd like to think Manny would be able to get to him as well.
