  • Comments Thread For: Daniel Geale Resumes Career, Heads To 168-Pounds

Former middleweight champion Daniel Geale (31-4, 16KOs) is back in camp, training hard and preparing for a return in the new year at the super middleweight limit of 168-pounds.

Geale suffered a brutal knockout loss to WBC middleweight champion Miguel Cotto in four rounds back in June.

The Australian star said he was very weak from meeting the stipulated catch-weight of 157-pounds for the contest. He says Cotto refused to grant him the fight without the catch-weight stipulation.

Diva Cotto made him a zombie and even threatened to abandon the fight if Geale was one pound higher.
What a b1tch. now he'll get retired against a kid ginger.

He'll probably be Ward's new opponent.

I could see him fighting Dunn or Caparello.... but I kinda doubt it for money reasons

Didn't see this coming, best of luck to Geale !

Yep, weight manipulation is a b1tch.

Pacquiao mastered it, now everyone else understands it.

Cotto knew it with Geale, just like Golovkin knows it with Ward.

              Catchweights are completely unnecessary.

But hey, everyone accepts them when it suits their guy, so..... ?

EXACTLY like Pacquiao did to him.

Geale might be more than Ward can handle at this moment. I heard Ward was looking to fight only guys that never won a world title.
