I knew that was coming. Oscar has been cherrypicking fights for Canelo for years already. All this talk about a winner of David vs Gennady gonna fight Canelo vs Cotto was a BS to either sell a fight or make him look like a guy who cares about boxing. He threw David in against very experienced a p4p fighter after Lemieux just captured a title instead of building him and let him defend a title at least a few times. ******* didn't do that cause David is not Mexican.

Its horse****, but its hard to feel sorry for GGG after the way he and his team have conducted themselves recently.

Ironically, things are playing out exactly the way all the non-GGG diehards around here said they would. We said nobody cared about this unification nonsense and the PPV would tank. We said Cotto nor Canelo care about the belt and would shun GGG.

The reality is, GGG has ****ty management. They totally overestimated his popularity amd pull. They also played the Ward thing totally wrong. And now Gennady is on the outside looking in. At least those 100K folks that ordered his last fight will happily shell out the $50 to see him "unify" with Andy Lee.

But my question is simple. If canelo isn't a middleweight then why in the flying **** is he fighting cotto for the WBC Middlewight belt, and the LINEAL MIddlewight title? If he just drops it like Pacquiao did after beating Margarito for the 154 strap, that would be fine, but if he's going to fight for the belt, keep it,and say that he's too small to fight golovkin for it,that's just some straight up b*tch ****. Forget a side and b side, that is a blatant duck.
How long have you been following boxing ?

          1) that fight has been discussed for years, MW belt has nothing to do with it

          2) Its a money-fight, come on

Dude, that fight will determine the best JMW on the planet.

Who cares about the worthless middleweight belt, they are both JMW's.

And yet everyone stated the exact opposite, fans dont know shht.

I told everyone the best chance for that fight was Cotto beating Canelo.

Cotto is closing the door, Canelo is coming up.

Canelo's too small for 160. Body is not ready yet. Rematch with Cotto, then a few more fights at 155, then 156, a few at 157, some more at 158, then 2 or 3 fights at 159 and Canelo will be ready for 160. GGG can get some in 2023.

Canelo wins and has a 2 fight victory parade as the face of this sport.

Thats exactly right, and that includes HBO.

They are all desperate to manufacture Golovkin into a star.

Fcuk having some **** tell me that {insert name here} is a great fighter.

Their job is to match their guy up with the best opposition, put it on TV, then get out of the fkn way and let him do his job.

IF, he becomes a star..... we will let them know.

Fcuk manufactured fighters and network darlings. The marketing/PR/HBO clowns need to leave the office and let his manager/matchmaker match him tough.

                  Just like real stars do.

Nice post. This GGGt@rds are clueless about boxing. Ever since GGG used this unification nonsense as an excuse to duck Ward. All these ass clowns blab about is belts, belts, belts, belts, belts.

Gotta disagree with you on the bestt jr middleweight on the planet thing. Cotto got outclassed by Trout. That fight counts. And personally, I thought Lara beat Canelo. And there's several folks that thought Trout beat Canelo. Cotto-Canelo is the highest profiled fight in the division. But IMO won't crown the top guy in the division.
