  • Comments Thread For: Klitschko's Manager Very Open To a Povetkin Rematch

Bernd Boente, the manager of Wladimir Klitschko (64-3, 53 KOs), says there is absolutely no reason why they wouldn't take part in a rematch with Alexander Povetkin (29-1, 21 KOs) - if both fighters come through with their upcoming obligations.

I'm only interested in seeing this if a) Povetkin beats Wilder and b) if they have a better ref.

I have a horrible feeling that we're going to see Wladimir-Chagaev II next year, before Wilder or Povetkin. :durr1:

Let's have an honest referee for Klitschko-Povetkin II.

The ref in the first fight was calling push-downs knockdowns and permitted repeated holding/clinching from Klitschko.

Klitschko doesn't need to use those illegal tactics.

Then we might witness a great career get stopped by a smaller man

Ward-Green was even worse, Ward held for virtually the entire fight.

They must be having a hard time getting Muhammad Ali out of retirement for a showdown even with that guaranteed "mandatory challenger" title Team Klitchko agreed to cover the bribe I mean cost of. Theyre just using Povetkins name to rush Ali into signing. Wlad UD12 Ali 118-110 if the fight happens.

Wouldn't mind this with a ref mentally and physically strong enough to force them to fight instead of hold the whole fight. The best two heavyweights out there, but the first fight was one of the worst I've seen in the past 40 years.
