Ward can't draw flies and neither can GGG but that's the fight people want so.why not push for.the fight.amd not discredit because of finances.

Apologies, I should have stated i'd personally rather see that fight as a boxing fan.

Sadly for me and you, the guys who make the decisions are strictly business and that fight isn't really a mouth-watering prospect in the business sense, compared to GGG v Cotto/Canelo, even though i think he might steamroll both of those fighters.

I was talking from the perspective of the guys who make the fights. GGG v Ward has no real appeal outside of dedicated boxing. I'd pay to watch it in a heartbeat, as would you and many others on this forum. But that's it, the real money comes when the casuals are putting their hands in their pockets too, the business guys behind it making the fights know this.

Certain people are pushing for a Ward fight for no reason...

It's not the biggest fight and the guy is a lightheavyweight...

What would be the reason to push for a Ward fight apart from wanting a White man to fight a Black man at a huge weight disadvantage...

Floyd v. Triple G at 154..where Floyd is champ = much bigger fight..would do at least 1.5 mil PPVs..

Triple G v. Cotto/Canelo = much bigger than the Ward fight..

Triple G v. JCC Jr. or Froch = bigger than the Ward fight..

Why would people be pushing for like the 6th biggest PPV for Triple G?

Ward should be focused on Kovalev instead of running to BET because he's too scared to commit to the fight and his last fight was at 172 lol..

Because he crossed over into mainstream culture and as i've stated before, the real money rolls in when the casuals and non-followers of the sport are paying to watch you.

GGG is only known amongst boxing fans pretty much, Mayweather is a famous guy and we live in a world full of consumerism where people buy into celebrity culture. They're not buying the actual 12 round fight, they're buying the "Mayweather fight" as an event, because it's something popular at the time. That's the difference between guys who make huge money and those that don't. De La Hoya had legions of women paying good money, like most of them cared about the details of whats happening in the ring.

It's not really about boxing after a certain point. The amount of actual followers of the sport isn't that big.
