He's right. There's no real shortcut. No matter how much the likes of HBO try to push certain people as PPV stars, the hard part is actually getting people to part with their money and it's never an easy task and it takes work and time to get people to do that without hesitation.

GGG just doesn't have the names to propel him outside of Canelo and Cotto and its possible neither will fight him. Ward can't and doesn't draw flies, doesn't matter how good he is. Floyd and Manny had De La Hoya, then they had the potential of fighting each other, and along the way to that they had the likes of Cotto, Canelo etc. to fight to keep it ticking along nicely until they met each other.

GGG doesn't have any of this in his favour. Even if he moves up, nobody is going to pay to watch something like GGG for DeGale, or if he stays where he is, who's going to pay to watch GGG for Andy Lee or something?

Outside of fighting Canelo or Cotto, HBO and Team GGG can basically kiss goodbye to any chance of being a big PPV fighter. That's no slight on Golovkin, i think he's excellent but that doesn't always translate it into popularity and revenue, especially when you have very few big numbers guys around you.

This fight didn't sell because Triple G didn't use the Mayweather camp's tactic of selling PPVs: Mention PACQUIAO!

Triple G should have said he can make 150 and wants to fight Pacquiao... would have sold at least 500K PPVs..

He was fighting a dude that he was heavily favored against -1200.. Like really, people want to dish out $70 on that match up.. SMH

Should of been on HBO atleast..

GGG the next boxing hype job.. Lets tailor his zero losses and put him against tomato cans...

Yeah, it'd be thanks to Cotto and Canelo. Glad it.flopped, now they wont try to PPV another BS fight.while trying to.force this dude to.stardom. Instead of.try to.fool.people there's a way he could legitimately blow.up and that's by fighting some actual competition and not bring up.A side and finance excuses. Hows that humble pie?

Lol @ these racist FIomo-CoWard fan boys hating on Triple G because he's White...

When Floyd fought Gatti..these FIomos weren't even Floyd fans yet..because he still hadn't gotten rid of the stigma of being exposed by Jose Luis Castillo... After Floyd beat Oscar FIomo fan boys started paying attention to PPV...

Pacquiao v. Marquez 3 sold more PPVs than Mayweather v. Marquez..

FIomos were silent about this when revenue split was being negotiated...

Triple G sold more PPVs in the U.S. than Roy Jones sold on the regular in his first PPV against a guy who is hardly known to the U.S. audience...

Ward can't draw flies and neither can GGG but that's the fight people want so.why not push for.the fight.amd not discredit because of finances.

Only White-hating racists are pushing for Ward and Triple G...

Triple G v. Mayweather was the fight everyone wanted to see..

                      Triple G v. Cotto-Canelo

Are much bigger fights than CoWard who fought on BET because HBO wanted him to commit to a Kovalev fight before letting him rob money from the network while fighting bums...

So he robbed Roc Nation and they paid BET..
