I think Ellerbe has some solid points, but he is missing how simple it really is and was for Floyd in the end. The Mayweather's know how to talk **** and how to upset some Americans by being freethinking blacks. "Fans" eat this stuff up. Golovkin has a far different challenge IMHO as he's not from the States and listening to him talk is painful sometimes.

GGG needs the big name to put him over the top. Unfortunately there isn't a big name to pass the baton kinda like Oscar did with Floyd and Manny. Or a big Euro star who fills seats kinda like Hatton did with Floyd and Manny.Without those 2 guys both Floyd and Manny would have never cracked 400K per PPV ever and would never have had mass appeal. GGG's best bet is to violently destroy everyone in Middleweight and create a reputation big enough to reach mass appeal. He has to do it like Tyson did in the 80's

Bro, Pac was the "Destroyer" remember......he was the closes to Tyson since Tyson, that's why America fell in love with him....because he destroyed everyone in his path for some years and ended some careers (ala Margaritto). So maybe he could follow that path, but he will have to go up in weight and look like some sort of enigma like Pac did.
