Young, hungry Duran would beat Floyd down at 130/135. Above that, dunno, I'd have to give Floyd the edge. Despite all the negative things you can say about Mayweather, having a weak chin or poor conditioning are definitely not 2 of them. If Leonard could frustrate Duran, surely Mayweather could too.
Not really bud.....leonard used a tactic on duran no one had ever seen before....so that moment was unique to the moment....and duran was not prepared for the style leonard put him that night.....we have to judge it really on the 1st Castillo fight as floyd was hunted down with relentless pressure....even the Hatton fight you saw floyd pressured and cornered many many times......a lot of good writers actually wrote that the first leonard duran fight was close and could have gone either way.....and leonard actually broke Durans mentality in Montreal...because the last 3 rounds leonard won and was coming on...leonard vs duran were perfect fight styles for each other .....duran mayweather are not because mayweather does not have to strength or punch to a keep a relentless duran off him...go ask roger mayweather who he thinks would win between his nephew and duran...he would say duran....both leonard and Duran are a different beast than any of mayweathers past opponents

He needs to take risks that is comparable to the ones Duran took or SRL if he wants to be in the ballpark with them. Fighting past prime DLH at 154 isn't nearly comparable. DLH at his peak at 147 was a decent champion but DLH was no monster even at his peak, which he certainly wasn't when Floyd fought him.
Let's ignore the fact that Floyd called out Oscar and Mosley after every single fight he fought at light weight and they both made the same high risk low reward excuse.

Mosley said he had a toothache and wanted to go on vacation and Oscar had s bunch of excuses. When Floyd beat Henry Brussels, he called em out again in the post match interview and declared that he would take on anyone from smw and below. Response was crickets.

He called out prince naseem and casemoyar after he beat corralles and Larry Merchant told him that those guys will never fight him after what he just did to corralles. PAC ducked a drugs test and they said cotto was too green when Floyd called.

Floyd never ducked anyone, he was the one being ducked the whole time. Floyd has always gone after champions. All you have to do to fight Floyd is to win a title and then call him out. PAC, chino, Ortiz, cotto, canelo, Oscar, Juda, baldomir, they all had belts when Floyd fought em and Marques was pound for pound number 2. Ricky Hatton was super lightweight champ and unbeaten, had just beat costa tszyu too.

        just a thought.
        Mayweather 38 years old.

worst 2 performances in his career against a B+ level fighter prior to the Pacquiao fight.

Pacquiao 36 years old coming off a good win against P4P #3 guy in the world in Tim Bradley a year earlier.

        Floyd 19 years pro.

They both fought almost the same number of rounds.

Pacquiao started boxing at 14, Floyd started training at like 1 and started competing at 10.

Floyd had 90 amateur fights and competed on an international level, nobody knows much about Pacquiao's amateur career.

Floyd's hands have been plagued by injuries for the most part of his career, sure Pacquiao had some minor injuries in his career, but nothing as serious that he had to fight with 1 hand 1/5th of his career.

No excuses, both were old and way past their best, if u judge them based on their recent fights (1 year span before they fought), Pacquiao looked more like his old self than Mayweather, who has shown a lot of decline in 2014.

        • So there we have it. Floyd ducked Khan 4 times in a row and Duran knows why. When was the last time Floyd actually fought a top fighter in their prime? 15 years ago - Corrales. He's been fighting low level, washed up, weight drained or past prime guys ever since.

Khan beats Floyd all day and Duran is in with a good shot too.

          • actually out of the big 4 duran is the one i think floyd would beat in his prime. think how frustrated he got against leanord in the 2nd fight floyd would make him miss even more.

" Manny Pacquiao was supposed to be a whirling dervish of punches that would come at Mayweather nonstop and break him down with relentless offense,"

that pac hasn't existed in like 7 yrs.
