Robert Allen is a good measuring stick. After their third fight, where Hopkins won a decision versus knocking him out in the second fight, Allen had stated Hopkins wasn't as fast and strong as he was before. That was in 2004 right before the Oscar fight. You could see a decline from 2001 to 2004. So I'd say his prime ended between then, around 2003.

Yeah, I think floyd was at his best from 130-140..

He slipped abit going to welter, wasn't as fast, powerful or explosive..

What floyd did to gatti, he could have easily done to ghost, shane, Hatton had he not lost a youthful spring in his step

Actually, according to stats, Floyd was more aggressive at the lower weights, and got hit more! It wasnt until he went up in weight, that he began to throw less shots, get hit less, and dominate the entire fight impeccably!

I believe his plus minus rating at 140 was 28! At ww, it peeked at 30, which was top 3 in boxing history! His absolute peek, based on stats, began at ww, and ended after the Shane fight! He didnt do Ortiz the way he did JMM and Shane, but that was a 4 round fight, and its not like Floyd got the chance to really go in!

After the Cotto fight, Floyd had a new prime between the Ghost and Canelo fight! It completely ended their!
